I'm not sure. I like the way it's done, took me a second to see the design, but then it was like, oh cool!
Still I'm hesitant about the whole stacked LOVE thing, just because I see it so often.
I also really like the colors on this though... hm...
Super Fresh. I am all over this. quite a double entendre. a dichotomy of polarized fronts. Great theory, a tad cliche, but the aesthetic makes it jump. My first teeeee of the furyyyyyyyyyyy. Well done bra.
I didn't mean I didn't like Vonnegut, quite the contrary I'm a big fan, but you have to think about INDIANA as a whole. We have about 1.5 "cities" and most of the other people are conservatives living in rural areas. Indiana wanted to be proud of something benign like art about love instead of good books.
...since in my experience much of the state isn't a fan of recreational reading.
@steveomac So you can't say that you h8 a shirt. I don't think that they should do that, censorship is OK for foul language, but not to protect their product.
First tee-fury shirt I've ever bought and i'm looking forward to wearing it...I don't get why peeps got their panties all bunched up over the 'stacked love' thing. they look completely different. sure, the other logo may come to mind if you're familiar with it, but in the end, this shirt stands on its own.
Don't get me wrong, cool design but I think this is more suited towards sport-y people as well as women who wear "Peace & Love" purses even though they're complete bitches.
Watch, they won't care about any other comments later in the day but now that the true criticism lies on top, they MUST get rid of it otherwise more people will "fill in the blank" it and not buy it.
Come on, TeeFury. Learn to take opinions seriously. Sure, I understand that bad language isn't great for advertising, but when people don't feel in tune with a design, I believe they have the right to say so.
Don't become CorporateTube and censor everything please.
i decided i won't buy it, i think the design is way awesome but to me the colors ruin it.
charcoal just looks like a black shirt thats been thru the wash 23824 times, and i dont like red and turquoise together either.
props on a sweet design tho
I'm really liking the play on words with the "easter island" head over on the side... clever! Also, etherbrian, your writing style is amazing. I can tell you read the classic lit.
But yeah, the shirt is great. If only I hadn't spent $40 on clothing yesterday... :(
I love how uniquely different and original each artist's style on this site is...
and I h8 looking through the archives at 12:01 and knowing I missed out on another awesome shirt...
I love how affordable these shirts are, and the luxury of wearing them...
and I h8 waiting till around 11 o'clock to finally decide whether or not to make the purchase...
I love all the little things that make this site so cool, like the Tbird and the artist profiles...
and I h8 wondering if this image won't print well on a dark shirt, like The Terminated March...
We are going to be giving away this Bobble Head Monkey to a lucky Teefurian soon! We have a bunch of other fun stuff. Also, we are going to the electronics store later! OOOOoooo!

Thanks kindly for the many kind comments! Regarding the 1UP design, I tried that design with a print-on-demand shirt service, but that sort of setup can't hold a candle to bonafide screen printing. If you'd like to see 1UP printed in a quality fashion on a quality cotton shirt, the only thing I can suggest you do is to petition the good people at TeeFury with many manic messages, each one in all-caps. Have a lovely day, one and all.
My daughter would LOVE the Domokun pack. I bought her a big Domo at Target the week before last. She sleeps with it every night because she says it eats the other monsters.
least: Yes, also just for fun! :D We got an allowance cause we used the money we raised from the Teefury Collab Tee to give back. We'll have more stuff coming up soon.
A big thank you is in order for Tee Fury. It's been over a month since you've used the female model making fun of those with scoliosis. Dare we hope she has been perminantly retired from the site?
I do not really understand how the design is creative or interesting. Your portfolio art is awesome. I just find a disconnect between what is printed and what you other work is....
Its somewhat like the artist that did the 'dead inside', where his portfolio work was massively different then the piece he entered.
In my OPINION, you have a lot of good work that could/should have been submitted before this one. If you would like to respond to why you choose that vs other work of yours i am genuinely curious.
this shirt is decent. this is more of an idea piece than an art piece - it took a while to come up with the idea, and a couple of minutes to make it - but I still like it. not exactly my purchasing cup of tea, though.
Oops. I put my comment on the Lucky Charm forum post.
Oh well... wasn't much being said anyway :D
Just that I'm from Indiana too and remember the Stacked Love sculpture in the town I grew up in.
I dig this tee. A lot. Not for me, but I've showed a few friends I knew would want it.... they got it. Woohoo!
Giveaways? Hmm. I've always loved that. I've donated "Goodie Boxes"
for charity causes in auctions.
Why not for the celebration of one of my favorite collectible sites?
Be the first person to email me the answer to:
"What is tattooed on my Left Butt Cheeck?"
and I'll send out a pretty damned cool goodie box. Seriously.
I usually wear XL's, and the XL's from TF fit me great. Some say they run a bit small. it's 11 bux, shipped. Pick it up a size up and check it!
totally worth it!
A word from the curator: It's interesting to see the similarities between love and hate- in addition to sharing a letter in common, they also hold passion in common. Love it or hate it, you're feeling something, and it's intense.
Tell us the background of this design. My remembrances are hazy. I seem to recall noodling with some custom letterforms and all of a sudden this juxtaposition of contraries just appeared. "I love it!", I exclaimed. "No," I changed my mind, "I hate it."
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you? I'm mostly harmless.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out? That I sometimes __________, and on occasion I even go so far as to __________.
Name a few of your favorite things. Henry Mancini, funk music, Elvis Presley, scifi, Ray Bradbury, Godzilla, cookies, cats, pixels, old movies.
What are your feelings on the classic literature? They don't call it "classic" for nothing! But seriously, having been forced to study it in school, rather than making me hate it it created in my heart a soft spot for it. I actually recently bought a paperback copy of the plays of Aristophanes. Nerdy!
Do you prefer Ice Cube, Ice T, or Vanilla Ice? I know too little about these fellows to make an informed decision, but I think I'm correct that Ice T stars in a police drama on TV (one of the 72 police dramas currently running), so that probably means he's packing more talent than the other two.
Dragon vs. Phoenix: which would win the battle? Both being so closely tied with fire, one belching it and one bathing in it, I believe they'd discover that their commonalities are the basis for a beautiful friendship.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much. Rather than describe a shirt I currently own, I'll mention the one that is my all-time favorite and which is now gone. It was a black tee with a high-contrast, head-and-shoulders, purple portrait of Marilyn Monroe. It was a hypnotically beatiful shirt, and I wore so often and for so long that the large holes that began appearing in it forced me to finally cast it aside.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium. I'm not qualified to defend which is "better", but the activity I participate in most is watching movies. The older the movie the better I usually like it, and, fortunately, that well is still a long way from running dry. I usually cite Citizen Kane as my most favorite movie, but I hate to slight many late-1930s films I've lately been discovering.
What inspires your work? I've been making art and absorbing the work of other artists for so long that at this point in my life my mind is a big stew. It's from it that I'm continually drawing inspiration. That's not meant to dismiss all the great new artists I run into on the web, but there's honestly not really anybody in particular whom I follow these days. Any shout outs? Hey, C&D, you like this, right? Measure your torso!
