screw that, there needs to be a proper mj shirt. Zombie thriller MJ anyone?
Oh, You Mean Like This?
Part of why people get so up in arms about creativity and originality here is because the sheer amount of stuff that has already been done makes it all the more praiseworthy when something at least partly original comes out. Zombie thriller clearly isn't that

@adamsw216
If they didn't want the kids clamoring for memorials of EVERYONE then they shouldn't have memorialized ANYONE. Give us an inch and we clamor for a mile.
AAAAAND since I'm trying to be less off topic, though I'm not a fan of the shirt as a whole I do love the color choices.
stablercakesaid 136 weeks ago
I felt similar in the case of MJ that you feel about Billy as far as "worthy"-ness goes.
And quoting myself from yesterday (since at like 11:59) "...we've found it pretty easy to be hypocrites in this case because I don't know if you've noticed, but it was Billy's JOB to capitalize on us. Seems deserving that we should do the same!"
Also, learn to take a joke, god smuuuuuurf.

And as for the memorial shirts, I'm with ale, people die everyday, notable people to boot. It's sad, but there's better ways to remember someone than wearing a shirt of them.

The more I look at this design, the more I like it. I can't decide if I like it better on the somewhat darker(?) olive or lighter(?) military green. Both look amazing. And thanks for the background info!
OpenIntrosaid 136 weeks ago
this shirt looks great. looks REALLY great on the military green. seems like the olive washes out the design a bit, no?

This rocks only because it is not a billy mays tribute..... keep ur costumers happy....geez..... we want a bill mays shirt.
stablercakesaid 136 weeks ago
We're (or at least I'm) clamoring for a Billy tee because they did an MJ tee.
If they never did an MJ tee (which I still think wasn't a good idea) then we wouldn't be asking for one. (Jokingly.)
It's all or nothing and TF can't go back on it now.

If you are pairing this shirt with Honduras b/c it's citizens speak Spanish and it was designed for a Mexican Hero than that would be like saying that England had something to do with the war in Iraq b/c its citizens speak English...
Anyway, I like the shirt.

I do like it... even if I don't understand it. (I've been saying that a lot recently. I'm apparently a moron.)

You would have to have a memory capable of remembering 4.5 billion years of history to know every detail of this planet's history. I am not sure anyone is capable of that...But I am just crazy enough not to rule it out as a possibility. :)
You're most likely not a moron...You are most likely just confined to your own humanity.
In a related idea: I never say bad things about myself b/c I know that someone else out there is more than willing to do that for me. :)
Have a nice day. :)

From my 2cents of perspective, I'm led to digest that this is about a moustached government/corporate mercenary that died a martyr? I'd give a pass on this cos I can't quite relate, despite the tee having wild splashes of colours on a serene green.
Good idea, but could do with a little more careful measure of the splashes and textures.

You'd think I'd be all for this, moustache and everything, but it seems a lot like yesterday's. I like the idea, but it's got an incredibly "look what I found that I didn't have to pay rights to and threw some photoshop magic on" type of feel.
That's kinda how I feel about this type of art as well.
Just my opinion.
Looks neat tho.

Much thanks for zapping me back; too bad the other 'simpler' design didn't make it.
I keep debating about this one, I love the base 'graphix' - I just Arrrgggh the 'paint' that hide that base graphix. I Arrrgggh these arguments in my skull, very exhausting.
Again, thanks Sir Almond Rox.
Best---

Just a few things...Thanks for all of the comments, the good and the bad. I take all of your comments constructively. It's too bad people Arrrgggh paint so much. I love to paint and usually like incorporating my mistakes with paint into my artwork..I'm very into texture and paint has always given me odd compositions and layering depth. It's okay though, I respect people's stance on paint being overused right now...kind of like neon and zombies.
Anyway, I'm not here to defend myself, I love collage, textures, chaos, hand-drawn, manipulated artwork. For those of you into it, thank you, it means a lot.
almondroca: not sure what you're talking about. This design hasn't changed since the day I first designed it.
Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with in the future.
Peace, thanks for your support!
ammatossaid 136 weeks ago
Dear folks of the TeeFury, is the word Arrrgggh (h/a/t/e) so out of the norm that it has to be edited by your auto-editor?!?!?
Is it SOOOOOOOOO out of bounds that one cannot Arrrgggh (h/a/t/e) a particular design. I think this particular 'edit' is a bit 'childish' - only word I can think up. I mean isn't this edit of the word "Arrrgggh" more suited to 7 to 9 year-olds sending text messages (etc.).
Or at least get an editing program that takes context into account. OK, so you don't want me to "Arrrgggh" the design, but why can't I say that I "Arrrgggh" headaches?!?!?
Best.

The colors are what instantly grabbed my attention, I personally find them very appealing. I don't see how you could dismiss this as some preteen Photoshop project. There's originality all over this, he clearly states that the leaves were retrieved from his own yard in the interview and the quote appears hand-drawn. It's a design solely inspired by and dedicated to an iconic person so I don't see the harm in incorporating some relevant textures and cleaning them up for the sake of a collage.
I love this design. All I'm doing here is defending a talented artist.
