There is nothing wrong with comic sans OR papyrus. The only reason you people say you dislike them is to try to sound all "typographic-y" and whatnot. Every font is beautiful if used in the right way, and every font has a right way to be used.
This looks like a take on the ol' anti-racist patch, showing the guy throwing away a Swastika. Then, the band Spazz did a throw-off where the guy was throwing away emo. I'm not so sure if I approve of this newest rendition.
I have to agree with you.
I might have considered buying this shirt if the man in the graphic was about 50% smaller and the font size was a reasonable 36 or so (instead of being closer to about 110).
However, as part of my code - I don't wear white shirts, nor do I condone the perpetuation of comic sans in any form. I'm really not even supposed to acknowledge it, but oh well.
@disgruntledchao, well, a month or so ago, people (or a person) was complaining that there weren't enough funny shirts on here, so I can't you can't please everyone can you?
lol @ my girlfriend made an urban dictionary entry about Papyrus in my honor a few years ago because I complained about it whenever I saw it on a sign.
I can't link from my phone, but trust me, it's there. Go on, see for yourself.
IMO this shirt is right along with "dead inside." I thought this website was supposed to support artists, not wannabe comedians. More illustrations, please!
Can we have less "complaining about wanting less" "funny" shirts please >
like, omg, like, you know, like uhm... say, shirts you won't read an laugh at once and then forget something's even on it
we need more artistic stuff, monkeyfart, junk, not these snakebomb nerd/geek/freak/punk/skull/animal/font/fuzzy joke shirts you could find at a store like hot topic or something, like, you know... more logic, less complaining.
*cough* [regular voice] I like Verdana. What does that make me?
@icecube
I'm 21, and I've been "been on the internet" since middleschool.
I have never once heard of "ban comic sans" and I have never met someone else who has had such a strong opinion on font styles...
Soccerfun88- Fonts and the proper use of them are a big deal in graphic design. Comic sans is one of the most hated fonts in the business for several reasons, people often default to it when making home-made posters/flyers or in email and instant messaging. It's not the most pleasing font to look at, to say the least.
I for one don't think we should ban comic sans. Just avoid using it in the wrong circumstances... Actually I think that may be my issue with this shirt, I do get the joke, but I don't think the design pulls it off well. The use of comic sans within the shirt is ironically inappropriate.
I understand where you guys are coming from - but I don't have to be a graphic designer to receive emails or text messages, or to look at posters or flyers.
:P
Look at it this way. I love love love music. I listen to a plethora of different stuff. I don't go around (like most people, mind you) and bash bands I don't like. It's pointless; taste is relative.
But then again, this is just my perspective on things. ;p
"I understand where you guys are coming from - but I don't have to be a graphic designer to receive emails or text messages, or to look at posters or flyers."
That's exactly what design is for. Ultimately it's not for designers but for the general public or a more specific audience. And trust me, there is an audience out there for comic sans =)
Just imagine it this way, You go to a rock concert and the band starts playing a mix of Sesame Street remixes. That's comic sans being used inappropriately. XD

I'm finding teefury to be inconsistent in their quality levels. Sure this is a cleverly composed shirt but I could see buying this from snorg tees or something.
i wouldn't see it so much as an inconsistency as it is a variety! a design doesn't necessarily need a great amount of time spent on it to be successful - this shirt is more iconic than illustrative.

I agree that variety is good but when you go from something such as yesterday's tee to this, Not that it's a bad design, it's almost a let down to see something so simplistic.
i have to disagree with ya there Teevil Papyrus has helped me out sooo many times (Im a typesetter) i would Arrrgggh to see it go B^( now arial... that can go any time... all of them!!!
If this t-shirt was printed on the back of a lion's face I wouldn't even consider the circus as a career option! But other than that I can say no more.

True, but it's typically considered socially acceptable for people to make fun of Britney Spears (and that ilk).
There are artists that you might not like, but they're still good in their own right. And then there are other artists...
But yeah, it's all about what you care about. People in the design industries get tired of seeing an overused, sloppily-made font. People in the music industry probably get tired of always hearing about unoriginal but catchy pop music.
Wow. I never realized there was so much Arrrgggh out there against fonts. I like Papyrus, but I can kinda see what everyone is saying about comic sans. It's pretty lame. Not the shirt. The shirt is cool.
Everytime an e-mail is sent typeset in neon green comic sans with intentions that are anything but ironic, a graphic designer feels a twang of unease that something is just not right in this world...
Tell us about this design:
This design is about Comic Sans and how it sucks.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Martin Parr, Tea, Supermarkets.
Do you own a lot of shirts? If so, what's your favorite?
No, but I do have a T-shirt with 50 cats on it, its quite impressive.
What inspires you?
Martin Parr, supermarkets, Adam Curtis.
How did you get into art?
I went to design school and did a 4 year degree in visual communication design.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
'Design is just language and the real issue is what you use that language to do.' -Tibor Kalman
