There are so many envelope pushers out there really deserving of the spotlight that teefury brings to their work. I could find a handful in less than an hour surfing through deviantart.

Thought provoking, aesthetically pleasing, consciousness expanding art. If it's tongue in cheek humor, make it high brow.

We have 6dollar tees and woot for gimmicky shirts. Teefury should curating excellence!

Lets raise the bar here.

Yknow, I didn't think I'd get a laugh out of this shirt, but with it being called out as already on sale within 10 minutes, this is HILARIOUS.

This is the epitome of tired joke. With a logo that has been parodied to death, and an oh-so-creative nod to zombies (long known as the pinnacle of under-utilized memes), it's already the worst design teefury has foisted upon us. That no one thought to check that such a tired concept was done or not makes it even worse. Shirts like this don't speak to a diverse market, as you say. They speak to this site. Teefury is "Dead Inside" if it really thinks it can slap any celeb, any movie merch, and any overdone parody slogan on a tee and make FederalReserve off it.

With a move like this, it makes it near impossible to argue that this is what's "best for the artists". This is best for teefury's wallet. There is some artist who got denied or pushed back for this schlock. Get back to supporting people who care about their craft.

Sales are for people who don't care about what they're selling. Option shirts that will sell less but mean something. Because they probably haven't been printed yet. And their artists will appreciate every cent more.

As far as "stealing" the idea, I might have taken the evil, devil parody idea and ran with something else. And yes, I did create this some time ago.

No it was not done in Photoshop in 5 minutes...believe it or not, I did redraw each letter in CorelDraw.

No way, I know for a fact there have got to be tons of people submitting to TF they reject for possibly not selling like hotcakes. I know my stuff I've submitted hasn't been the best of the best as tee designs go, but I'm sorry, it's head and shoulders above this and still got rejected. I'm certain I'm not the only one.

Normally, I am not so catty, but this is really unacceptable. I know so many artists who actually try & succeed in unique, brilliant, gorgeous designs. They can even take a "LOL" of the week & make a unique interpretation of it. This....this is not art. This is not even trying, regardless of if you really did hand make each letter.

I am both disappointed in you, for the sole reason of "you should know better" having been in the design world for 10 years. But I am also so disappointed in tee fury. & after I proudly wore my dead bird shirt today & directed several people to the site. Makes me run back to Ugmonk & hide in tee love.

Yea Kradrox- man I appreciate your kids' stories and all (I've been reading their story for the past half hour...i sincerely do appreciate their stories)....you really do need to do some research before you submit designs-especially parodies.

I write songs, poems, and stories...and sometimes I think of one line or phrase that sounds really great, and the first thing I always do is google it in quotes so that I know that the words are my own.

This shirt has already been printed before. People have given examples of it being printed, and while it might be a funny design...it still already exists.

I understand that parodies are not against the rules....nobody is ranting at you because this is a parody. They are ranting because the shirt basically already exists.

Chimaira's album 'Parse Out Of Existence' came out in 2001 I think, possibly 2000. The song 'Dead Inside' was the first single from that album, and was played on the tv show 'Farmclub.com'.

The original 'Dead Inside' shirt most likely came out that year, meaning that shirt was done close to ten years ago.

What I don't get is how the artist can sit there (well, comment there) and justify a very clearly stolen idea.

It may be redrawn, the letters may be new, but it's still a stolen, unoriginal idea.

And what's sad about this, is looking at the artist's profile, there are some really great, original designs that would have made great t-shirts.

I don't understand how any artist with a conscience can sit back and watch as a stolen, slightly re-drawn idea is bought (by idiots) and make money off of it.

I guess this is a prime example of the endless depths of human greed.

I'd like to think in addition to being a community of tshirt buyers, we're a community of artists. We should hold ourselves to a higher personal standard.

Also, I think some people should back off on personal attacks at the creator of the shirt. Obviously it was a big mistake, but unfortunately in regards to legalities, ignorance is not an alibi.

I usually am very against being negative on Teefury because everyone has their own tastes, but like many people are saying, I am extremely disappointed with this. An extremely old joke, a shirt that has been done before, and a design that doesn't look like much effort was put into it. I am very sorry for the negativity, but I am thoroughly not impressed.

...like 15 years ago, actually. When I did it, I wasn't aware of a dead parody. There were the aformentioned Devil, Evil Toker...bla bla bla parodies at the time. Quite frankly, after seeing those other Dead Inside shirts, my Dead Inside fits the bill better. But shirt enthusiasists probably differ in opinion.

Again. I submitted a parody design on a public site and it failed miserably. I got it. It's cool. I do have actual artwork for you all to Arrrgggh too. Yes, let the cartoony jabs roll.

And whether your shirt is better than those previously printed or not doesn't change the fact that there is something called intellectual property and copyrights. You broke them. And this being a public sight has nothing to do with it. We aren't pissed that your design rocks. We're pissed that you stole it, and broke copyright law and artistic ethics. You don't get it and it's not cool. And you didn't submit actual artwork and frankly, I don't care if you do now. I have no respect for a plagiarizer in literature and I have none for you. Gotta vote for the Dead Bird too. Feels too much like a shirt I'd see at K-Mart. Would have been cooler at least if those ads were still in use... I haven't seen anything with Intel Inside for years.

Not knocking anyone's artistic ability or anything, but it's just a case of bad timing combined with a site that has a somewhat particular design style.

No. The parody isn't funny. As I said, this whole joke was old a decade ago. it doesn't matter when this was originally made. It got old a decade ago. So even if this wasn't the exact same as another shirt for sale, it would probably still have a goodly amount of Arrrgggh because it is not a good shirt, and whoever curated it should be ashamed of themselves, ESPECIALLY if they happen to be a very talented artist for some reason.

It's over done, over printed, and, most of all, completely out of touch now. PC commercials don't even really advertise the fact that the processor is intel anymore.

Even if it is stolen or ripped off or what have you, I think that subject has been worn out after only 90 minuts, I still think it's a pretty mediocore design that I wouldn't be suprised to find in any mall across America.

Lesigh, I remember I was in a Starbucks w/ my bestie last month and she was wearing the Alice in Wonderland Fury shirt and the barista loved it so we told her about the site and how cool it was.

The dead bird is a dead teefury logo bird, and has been put up twice. Once as a promotion for a grab bag, halfway through a slow seller's lifespan (HOW DARE YOU SELL SLOW, LETS PUT UP A FASTER SELLER!) and once on a design stolen from an old david bowie tour shirt. It's pretty much the default "something screwed up but we need product" product.

Kradrox: To echo other commentors, you certainly had a good reaction to such negative comments at the beginning of the design bashing, but it's gone downhill. Go to bed and forget about it.
I will not judge and accuse you of plagiarizing, but it's really quite an old joke.
I think it's partly jimiyo's fault for failing to notice that a similar design has been printed before. Guess there needs to be better screening of potential designs.
If it helps, I rather thought it was a decent design (though I didn't get the joke immediately and it seemed lame), if not something I would wear myself.

I just spent the past hour reading every single comment posted about this shirt.

1. I agree that it should probably be removed
2. I disagree with the personal attacks made on the artist (e.g., you're a liar and a moron, go "penetrate yourself", etc.) -- I mean, REALLY, guys?? That's some very hateful and distasteful talk about a person, and I know that the TeeFury crowd is better than that. It's o.k. to dislike the shirt, but direct your negativity towards the design, not the artist.
3. I'm surprised that it's 5:30a.m. and no other curators have noticed what's going on (I know someone said that Jimiyo's internet is down, but where is Wotto or someone? They usually check the site/comments often).

I'm new here. Why are the people on here being such assholes? So you don't like the shirt. It's apparently selling and that's a testament in and of itself. There are plenty of t-shirts on this site I wouldn't buy and I wouldn't put the artist down the way all you are doing. I started taking some medication the other day, so Im actually quite apathetic inside about the whole thing. :P

Also, regardless of the sales (which this one will actually outperform our lowest selling type shirts which, btw are artsy shirts), this shirt is a success as far as inciting people to participate in conversation at Teefury.

So in that sense, it ranks on par with Zombie Obama.

This place isn't just about selling t-shirts. We want to interact, and promote some sort of community even if its dysfunctional. Although sometimes the interaction, the snarkiness makes me dead inside.

C'mon now, jimiyo, that's a terrible excuse for allowing this garbage to remain up. What this shirt is a success at is pissing people off due to it sucking so hard.

One of the reasons people are so frustrated is because by allowing this shirt to remain available for purchase you are telling the community that a) it is okay to steal someone else's 10-year-old idea, and b) that you are okay with choosing unfunny 5-minute photoshops over actual artistic user submissions.

Please Dead-Bird this or at least make some sort of acknowledgment that there was some foul-play regarding the current submission.

This place isn't just about selling t-shirts. We want to interact, and promote some sort of community even if its dysfunctional. Although sometimes the interaction, the snarkiness makes me dead inside.

Uhhhh. Cue feeling like an extreme latecomer but...

Aside from the fact that this is blatantly unoriginal/copied from someone else's intellectual property, etc. (whether the artist truly realized it or not...)

Why would you submit a design that is (supposedly) 15 years old??? How can that possibly be relevant to what you're doing now? And how is an old joke that was barely funny back then and that a lot of people wouldn't even GET these days...supposed to be relevant/funny today? I don't understand the desire to submit this design, much less TeeFury's desire to print it.

Onward to tomorrow's shirt!

Loss of an entire day's worth of sales is punishment enough for TeeFury. Hopefully the artist will get off his cocky high horse and learn a lesson as well.

Why giving Jimiyo such a hard time? Jimiyo takes chances and I like that... The Zombama could have easily ended the same as this, it was a parody of Fairey albeit much much better, but jimiyo to a risk and it turned out to be a teefury top performer as well as an over all hit. This just turned out to be a fail. Razz the artist not Jimiyo

I didn't see a single message where someone said "Sweet! Bought!" or something to that effect.

I mean, I wouldn't buy one, but it seems a LOT of people would especially since they're griping about the original.

You and the Star Trek Ms. Cake. Aside from being completely nerdy, every single vid you have posted has made me laugh out loud. Like, really; not just the overused internet acronym. I'm disappointed though. When shirt.woot printed that grim reaper shirt that was stolen, they said sorry and admitted they sucked at life. Jimiyo, time to stand up and apologize, I think.

Tell us about yourself:
I'm a web/graphic designer by trade for roughly 10 years and I've touched the t-shirt industry several times. I have always wanted to get into it heavier, but I either,

a. have higher-ups that are scared of my style or...
b. lacked the funds to produce my own.

Personally, I've got a wife and 2 daughters.

What do you want Teefury fans to know?
I'm a big horror movie buff...Loved them ever since when I realized as a kid that they weren't anything to be scared of but, wanted to know how they pulled off the effect. Fred Krueger will always be my #1. I seem to be having a fondness for zombies lately, though.

Name a few of your favorite things.
Horror/Sci Fi/Comic Movies, Monster Energy, My Xbox 360 and my New York Giants (at times...not in that 'exact' order)

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
Pay the bills. If there's anything left over ...cool. (This economy sucks. Why would I spend it irresponsibly?)
