I like the size of the print on this shirt. Of course I'm not a fan at all of the huge prints that are on most of the shirts here, maybe I'm old fashioned. That doesn't mean I still don't buy the shirts, just that I'd prefer a little smaller design, maybe 80%.
Hey Everyone, thanks for all the comments, good or bad I appreciate any and all advice. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am currently still trying to finish my webpage. So hopefully i should have a link to my portfolio shortly.
Really pretty design, but I def gotta tighten the belt for the next few months.
If that skull on the side was on sale though, wo-o-oah boy, goodbye eleven bucks.
This design is awesome! Two things holding me back for now, 1) I just bought a lion shirt from Uneetee, and 2)Alstyle shirts fit me slightly oddly. I don't dislike them, but they seem a little stiff and boxy on my frame. To the curators, have you ever thought about offering the option to buyers to pay a slightly higher amount, like $12, and have it printed on something like AA shirts? I'm not saying get rid of Alstyle, I'm saying have both options for buyers and they can choose which they prefer.
I think the lack of pupil is neat. However, some eye details would be fantastic. I've always loved drawing eyes. Maybe you could make the iris an interesting color. It would make a nice detail point and good visual contrast from the rest of the piece, which is pretty monochromatic.
Oh. Soooo much better than the last, like, 12 days. This is the direction you should be moving. I guess it took a low, really low, point like 06-19-09 to show how bad the shirts were getting.
That was actually my first purchase from this site. Unfortunately, they sent it a size too large, and the seams are... strange. They're twisty. Still, I love it. One day I might cut the print out and sew it into another tee.
I love the shirt. Definitely more my style than the last week or so. The lion without pupils looks not only regal but otherworldly, like it's going to start shooting out laser beams from it's eyes. I also like the design on cream. I think if it was on a sand or tan shirt, the colors and details of the design would be lost.
I've gone crazy buying t-shirts since I found this site AND I am not normally even a t-shirt wearer! LOL Buying one now.
I LOVE this design! I don't NEED any more TeeFury shirts right now, but I think I'm going to have to have this. I'm a Leo and have always loved lions. This is *beautiful* and classical.
(FWIW, I love the huge designs that cover most of the shirt. I wish this print was larger.)
I like the lion. Perfect for my Leo brother, therefore a definite buy.
As a side note, I have to say I find some of these t-shirt wonks to be tedious in their inability to forgive or forget any misstep on the part of any t-shirt merchant in their myopic little online world. Now we get to hear about "the sin of 6-19-09" forever into eternity, until we're right sick of it.
I hope everyone has enough largesse and imagination to MOVE ON soon... otherwise we'll all be treated to the nightly mewlings of a small cadre of self-congratulatory mini-fascists in search of the next geekinese way to express their need for universal adherence to their ephemeral, unwritten "laws of what is acceptable in the world of t-shirts".
You sniveling lot become tiresome in the extreme after a while, so step off and try to get yourselves all growed up, if that's possible, okay? TeeFury made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. There's no reason they should have their noses rubbed in it ad nauseum.
i honestly cant believe people like wookee and co. are that petty and sad that they are wasting a ton of energy about that 'dead inside' tee.
seriously, if thats whats gets you out of bed in the morning, to keep rambling on and on about that day, it just perfectly illustrates how pathetic your life is at the moment.
stop being a petty coward pest who hides behind the veil of the internet to pull cheap shots and get over it, or unveil who you really are to give your comments weight.
lets see you run a successful tshirt site before you can throw cheap dirt.
Before I forget to ask, did you design this as a tattoo before you decided to make it into a shirt design? Sorta has that look to it. It will make a wicked tattoo! Reminds me of a sculpture or an architectual piece you would see on the corner of a large building or cathedral. (Hope that makes sense. It's early and my thoughts are jumbled.)
@TBS3311 and scythe: Well said both of you. I was just thinking along those lines. I love coming to TeeFury not only for the designs, but for the artist blurbs and discussions. But that day left a bad taste in my mouth, not because of the design or because of TeeFury, but because of the comments. Some of those were low blows, or at least I thought they were. Granted, I wasn't aware that a similar idea/design existed, but it didn't take me long to figure it out. After that, it seemed like the attacks were coming swiftly and not-so-silently. Now I'm not trying to pick fights with all of you, I'm just stating my opinion on this. I just believe placing blame is easier than taking it.
My first tee bought! Great design! I really like how the mane of the lion is the leaf-like filagree. To me, it represents the everything "nature", both animal and plant, an intertwining of the two. Plus, it reminds me of a coat-of-arms or someething you might see carved into an ornate wood throne.
rourick said 7 hours ago
@Arson, just curious, why are you getting this as a tattoo? I think it will look fantastic, just curious as to the personal significance.
In ancient heraldry the lion stood for "Pride, Courage, and Loyalty" traits that i feel represent myself. It was originally just suppose to be for my tattoo then I decided i wanted it to possibly be a theme on my web gallery.

Nice, print is kinda small though.
That's debatable in my opinion. As the way the design lays out on the shirt.
It's got a pretty good size to it. Dammit. I *have* to get this one.
I just bought yesterdays. But alas... me and my boyfriend collect limited edition LION shirts when we like them, and I think he'll like this one and I always like giving gifts to people. 11 Dollars.
Damn. I sure hope there's nothing else that comes up that I *HAVE* to have. Look like a fun read today as well. Lots of comments. I sure hope the SINISTER lady doesn't say "TeeFury. The place for animals and skull shirts" again. *ugh*
Boyfriend looks good LION around in these types of shirt.
*GROAN* Sorry :D

He just hates tight Tshirts. The 2XL in my opinion fit him fine.
He's just a tad self conscious. *sigh*

@Arson. Sometimes it's nice to get art because you love the art.

He made the art... that's significant enough! It's a beautiful piece!
Don't wanna sound jerky... just remember there are tattoo collectors out there that collect it for the art. Sure, I'm mostly covered and some of them do have significance, most only ideas I've thought up to go with my appreciation of Asian Tattoo Art.

FuzzyLogic, I fully expected you to fall back on that as an argument. When your kind behaves badly, and are called on it, you manipulate like mad in order to try to justify or dismiss your own wrongdoing. Good luck with that.

You so smart and serious! Thank you for showing me the error of my ways Captain Fun Patrol! This one is for you:
Wookee, still haven't quite reached the point of maturity, I see.
Whether you like it or not, this website is a place of business, just like any store you walk into off the street. TeeFury, just like any retail business, are concerned with their bottom line. They have bills to pay and employees to compensate.
In this time of a global economic downturn, businesses are watching their costs versus income, and a day's sales figures can make a huge difference in survival or failure. You and your buddies, with your horribly offended sensibilities, took it upon yourself to create such a wave of negative chaos here, in this place of business, that you forced a merchant to change their sales plan.
IT'S NOT YOUR PLACE TO TELL ANYONE WHAT THEY MAY AND MAY NOT SELL IN THEIR PLACE OF BUSINESS.
Do you even understand that at all? Or have you gotten so used to going into sissy-slapping and girly-screaming mode anytime you see a t-shirt design you don't like, that it's become impossible for you to see someone else's point of view?
When you have your own t-shirt website, you will have the right to decide what's offered for sale. Until then, shut your insolent yap and get your ego under control. By all rights, you and all your tantrum-throwing pals should be banned from this site. If I were running it, I would have blocked the lot of you by IP the minute you started disrupting the place.
In any offline (IRL) place of business, when non-paying customers come in and start creating chaos, they get tossed out on their a$$es.
In the future, if you lot start going ballistic because you don't like what's offered, I hope TeeFury takes a hard line and kicks you out; it's what you will deserve.
It's amazing how much depth you achieved with only using 3 colors. This lion has character; he says "don't %$#@ with me!" And the style of the art goes well with the subject - very strong. This really would make a kick-arse tattoo! Great pick, Jimiyo!
Hey TBS, the more you react and make a scene (the internet equivelent of long posts that noone reads is that dude ranting and screaming that noone listens to), the more he's gonna throw that pic around.
And throwing that pic around's not really hurting anyone, since people who don't know where it comes from won't understand it and dudes who know it just giggles.
At the end of the day, what's most important is we're all still here on TF enjoying their tees :)
I know there were some hurtful things said in that transcteefurycopy, but I didn't insult the artist like some. I gave feedback but tried to ignore the personal stuff. True, I questioned some judgement from more than one person, but nothing I said was intended to hurt anyone. The latter half of that thread was mostly just in good fun, though I admit some of the earlier personal jabs could have been left at the door.
True, we can't tell TF what to sell, but we can voice our opinions so they know what their customers are thinking, we just happened to think negatively that day.
As far as behaviour, honestly the only one going ballistic here is you. Just like we have no right to tell TeeFury what to sell, you have no right to tell us our opinions are invalid and we should be "tossed out on [our] a$$es".
I think that it's a bit rude to discuss yesterday's design/other issues, totally unrelated to what is being sold today. TBS3311 already started a thread in the forum with a discussion of yesterday's event. How about moving that conversation to THAT THREAD? Just a suggestion...
MJ, you'll have to pardon me. This small group of self-appointed "design watchdogs" with an over-inflated sense of entitlement have periodically created total bedlam on Woot and other sites for at least a couple of years now. Everyone's just put up with it forever, but I for one am getting fed up. They try to say it's just all in good fun, but it isn't. They hurt the artists, they interfere with the retail sales, they ruin everything. It's unacceptable.
How dare you people try to make light of the tragedies of 06-19? "Never forget" is a rallying cry to the injustices done to the good people of Teefury by a lazy mad-man gone insane with his hatred of democratic tee-freedom or tee-dom. That is a day that tee-lovers will never get back. And if we don't fight bad tee's bad tee's will strike again. Please don't let history repeat itself with a teefury shirt that says something like "I do what the voices tell me" or "B*tch and proud of it!" Or god forbid another corporate logo rip off. How bout the McDonalds arches accept it says: Mac On it!
I agree, Olechka, I just didn't see anywhere else to post. Thank you,
As far as THIS design goes, I still dig it as a well-designed image and have actually just noticed how few colors there are. Great work! Not my taste, but now that I think about it I have a friend that might really love this!
This shirt is absolutely stunning. I love the detail in the mane. I like that there isn't a pupil as it gives quality negative spacing.
How dare there be this tomfoolery on my internets! Laughing is not allowed! You people need to be serious 24/7! T-shirt websites are very serious business. If we don't fight the council of evil t-shirts there, we'll have to fight them here! Send off every zig! It's over 9000!
Also Wookee...can you please submit that design to be made into a T-shirt? With a can of cherries and a McRib on top?
My dear friend, would you please be so kind as to point out any time that I said Teefury should alter its business plan by pulling the shirt in question? I never once said it. I love purchasing shirts from this site and will continue to do so long after you have gone.
I'm sorry (well not really) that you were so bu++-hurt by the fact that people were enjoying themselves in poking fun at the design that was for sale. My great-grandfather has a difficult time enjoying himself as well, so I know where you are coming from.
Did you notice that the tee wasn't initially pulled because the people that run this site decided it was good for business to have the elongated discussions in order to build a sense of community? I have the feeling you only read what you wanted to see in order to feel justified in your tirade to really "lay into those little punks."
I'm quite sure that "those little punks" mean far more to TeeFury's bottom line than people such as yourself that have 2x4's lodged squarely in their chutes. Pull it out and have a little fun in life.
Now I'm starting to sound like you with a 4 paragraph response and that is unacceptable, so at this point I will /rant.
TBS3311 I totally agree that there are a lot of little children on here that hide behind the internet and really just need to deal with the current tee instead of continuing to act like they have been acting for days now. Move on...
Im sooo close to buying it. The only thing holding me back is the shirt itself. I prefer tighter shirts and these shirts are a bit loose. However, I really really like it.
1st shirt bought after probably 4 months of lurkering. . . Nice lines Arson, great choice for ink too. I'm wishing the shirt placement was as you were describing the placement for your tat - but hey, all good.
Thanks T-Fury, keep 'em coming.
(p.s. In regards to "The Day"(stuuupid!!) - don't let the busters/haters mess with a good thing. 13yr olds have to have something to be smurfed about)
In the wee days of Teefury, erm, only a few months ago, Arson's art was one of the earlier memorable pieces of artwork I curated. So maybe I'm biased in enjoying this piece, but it is simple and clean, and lions are iconic imagery.
What's new with Loki? Well Loki Graphics is the name of my freelance business, and I am currently just trying to get it off the ground!
You mentioned you are getting this design tattooed, where, how big!?! I am getting this tattooed across my chest and down my arm, its going to be fairly large and expensive. Its a birthday present to myself. Is it your first tattoo? Nope this lion is going to be my second tattoo, the first tattoo I got was when I was 18 and it was just a small tribal on my back.
What's life like in Canada, what part are you from? Life is good in Canada, I live in Northern Alberta but the weather is not so great its currently fluctuating just about every hour, it would be nice for some consistency and warm weather.
Any future plans? Get hired by some large design firm? Freelance? As for plans for the future, I am currently working on a collection of pieces from traditional artistic mediums to graphics and advertisements, just so that when I launch my webpage I'll have a few things to put in the gallery, my webpage should be finished sometime in May. Any shout outs or things you would like to promote? I really have nothing to promote at the moment, I have been procrastinating lately!

As far as THIS design goes, I still dig it as a well-designed image and have actually just noticed how few colors there are. Great work! Not my taste, but now that I think about it I have a friend that might really love this!

Reminds me of Tom Burns' Nineteen Seventy Five with a lion instead of a chick.

I saw tomorrow's preview and realized I hadn't bought this shirt yet. Cut it pretty close.

Thanks T-Fury, keep 'em coming.
(p.s. In regards to "The Day"(stuuupid!!) - don't let the busters/haters mess with a good thing. 13yr olds have to have something to be smurfed about)

I'm hoping the cream color is a little darker, though. It looks kinda white, but I'm sure it'll be cool either way.
