lol another jealous person...
how does it bother you? it's just a comment that says Gargamel
just ignore it and read the comments you want to see.
or you can appreciate the shirt and not be a prick, your choice
wow. personally, i think Gargamel are way annoying, but i do not think jealousy is a factor for most. i think it's more so just a waste of space. but i don't think under ANY circumstance should someone say "why don't you come over to my house so i can shoot you in the face" over an 'lol' at it.
people need to take some major chill pills, threatening someones life.. not only is it not funny, but it's just plan rude. grow up.
Can't think of anything positive to say about the shirt or the work on the side so I'll leave it at that. Teefury's definitely hit and miss, but sure alotta "miss" lately.
lol, eludingsun, i'm pretty sure it was a joke
even then, why is it so bad?
as if whatshisface would even go over to porsche's house when he knows there's a magnum waiting for his face... dumb move on his part :\
and also telling someone you are going to squirt them with acid, that's real mature too. don't you have anything better to do then to sit around threatening people?
To help stop this comment zone from becoming a free-for-all of wasted energy, why don't we just take a sec and notice that the original "Gargamel" guy was just kidding about the jealousy thing. Didn't see the winking smiley face? Yeah. Come on people, let's think, and stop insulting each other over things that are intended as jokes. Jokes, as in, not reality, as in, no reason to get fussed.
ZealotGlobal, even if it was a joke. last i checked threats on a person life isn't very funny, especially when they do it twice in a row. But thanks for trying to be positive. :)
Great shirt. Not exactly unique, but I think that's exactly what I love about it. I think that because of that it may also have the ability to hit everyone just as they want it to.
words cannot describe how awesome this design is... too bad the dude's shirt would be a terrible color on me and the girl shirts aren't big enough! sad face times 10.
Agreed. The coloring on this T are wicked bad. Bad as in bad, not bad as in good. Normally.... I'm not a fan of this kind of art, especially on T's. BUT! I have to say, I would actually really enjoy buying this.... if not for the mustard yellow with red. Nice work Josh.
I dig this shirt so much! Totally my style. I see others saying they don't like the colors, but I think these bold colors complement the bold lines, and as mj was saying, emphasizing the brashness of classic comic art. And the blue had to be there; you know a guy's tough if he wears all denim.
Agreed that it looks like a Hadouken, or at least a Falcon Pawnch.
Like it a lot! Just wish that the girls was also the yellow instead of as is. . .
The design looks rather comic-like, awesome choice!
And actually at first glance, I saw Wolverine hahaha
The shirt rawks! the color adds a cool touch to it. I cannot imagine it in any other color. though it's not something i'd wear. but from an artistic perspective, it's cool :)
Gargamel rawks! Sense of humor rawks!
Everyone here rawks... Teefury rawks!!!
this is a quality design; if you don't like it thats fine; but be careful what you say on here people because its taking away from the artist and what they are tying to accomplish.
I hate how you put "Rumble!" on this. It's probably just me, but I hate when an artist has to put a word or a slogan just to take up space on the shirt. If it hadn't been for that, I would definitely have bought this (well, maybe if the color were changed too).
P.S. This is also one of the reasons that I hate all of the shirts of the day over at Emptees.
I was originally a fan of the shirt until I realized it wasn't Logan... remove all but three of the action lines around the hand, and it would have been an awesome wolverine shirt! But that said, its still an interesting design...
I agree about leaving negative comments, what's with that? I personally really enjoy how each day they had such different shirts here that eventually I can always find one I really like...but hey many do not like what I do, thus they have their days as well.
nice work Teefury
-and by the way, I do like this shirt
Dusty, you only say that because that's all you ever leave ;)
I think I might be the only one who didn't see wolverine in this...but I like it better that way. It's more hilarious if it's The Outsiders or Rumble Fish. His name is so Dallas or Two-Bit.
Now that I've had a sleep, I'm actually considering this one. I just look good in light yellow whatcanIsay?
This is sooooooo Kirby! If Kirby were illustrating a dime-store detective novel. Good stuff, nice color choice. Yellow's not for me, but I love seeing something bolder than black, gray, and tan.
Some people are so off base from the artist's intentions it's not even funny. To be constructive within a negative comment is support said comment with reasoning suggestions, but either way to try and tell a artist how he or she has done their work is poposterous. To call something "sloppy" without actually taking into consideration that he was inspired by golden age comics(which to myself looks like it was pulled right out of one) is a failure of your comprehension of the artist desire.
Dusty all you have done on here is leave negative comments you would probably look at a picasso and say its just a bunch of block people or poorly drawn stick figures.
I for one LOVE this design...the yellow being rather mustardish than "sun" yellow might actually work for me. Depending on what I get for lunch in about 1.5 hours I may get this shirt. Great pick guys!
Fantastic shirt. One of my favorite I've ever seen on here. I love how the front arm and hand are exaggerated, it's the icing on the cake. Too bad I have green skin, and this will make me look washed out, but........ohhhhh..... the temptation, think I'm going to buy it anyways.
What Up, This Tee is pretty cool man. I cant say that I would actually wear it but its pretty cool to look at on this website. Move the Cartoon to the back of the shirt and keep rumble on the front and you have a much for salable shirt as far as I am concerned.
And the cons of a one-a-day t-shirt site comes out...I HAVE NO MONEY! But, man, this shirt is awesome. I would grab this up in a second had I the resources.
Seems like all the opinions are subjective which is fine, but for anyone to call into question how finished or pro an image is doesn't really make sense. The curators are excellent judges for this criteria, otherwise the designs would not make this far. If you don't like it, that's cool, but what i don't understand is why anyone would take the time to say so. Do you feel the need to make others on the site know how personally dissatisfied you are with Teefury or the shirt of the day?
"Note to self. Get up. Brush teeth. Log on to Tee fury and demonstrate how below me the shirts and artists are today." LOL!
How goth of those people!

Art is more than just a image."
One wonderful attribute of open criticism is that an artist can choose to accept it or reject it. Whether or not Elowsky is closely imitating Golden Age comics (and you, having not drawn this image, are not the final authority on this) with this T-shirt design, I gave an opinion that he might consider in improving the chances of a T-shirt's popularity. If he does not want to consider it, that is his choice and his choice alone. My opinion is otherwise damaging to no one except those who feel personally injured by comments not even directed toward them.
As far as the declaration about art, let me also remind you that my comments are not appearing in an academically-minded art magazine but a T-shirt website.

I know that was probably not your intention, but the way you come off is about perception of what you say, not what you meant. Thought you might like to know what you seem like from an outsider's standpoint, no offense meant, I assure you.

No offense taken, although it is indeed a very offensive notion that language that does not cater to those obsessed with acronyms and other forms of thoughtless brevity and mindless entertainment is "insulting."
Do you even read the artist bio down the side? I fail to see how stating you think the artists work is sloppy will assist him in selling t-shirts. You might as well ask him to change his inspirations just so he can sell a shirt to suit you. I'm sure you will be on here tommorrow to state what you dont like about the next shirt. Have fun with your pointless delusion of constructive criticism.
Awayman, the comments section is where members can offer their opinions on the tee. If an opinion happens to be negative, deal with it. No one is asking you to agree with it.
I understand that alasht but at least you stated something or a suggestion to change as far as if the artist wanted to consider another type of shirt design shirt design. its different from the choice poor words others use towards a art style of all things. Your post was at least constructive if the artist had read it. Others offer nothing more than a insult.
"Do you even read the artist bio down the side? I fail to see how stating you think the artists work is sloppy will assist him in selling t-shirts. If you (and others) would bother to check my profile, I have responded positively to more than one T-shirt during my short time on TeeFury. I am sorry that my comments so irritate you, but I suggest that you skip them in the future as I am free to produce them.
The real argument here is not about my specific comment but about the reception of so-called "negative" comments in general: a good artist understands that, when he makes his artwork the center of attention, for however brief a period, it will be received with scrutiny and "negativity." These artists will necessarily have a sufficiently thick skin to weather criticism and do not need the protection of others, protection which ends up being far more superfluous than the comments it targets.
This is my final two cents on the matter in this thread; I have already spoken too much about it.
although it is indeed a very offensive notion that language that does not cater to those obsessed with acronyms and other forms of thoughtless brevity and mindless entertainment is "insulting."
Not sounding condescending doesn't mean you have to abuse chatspeak or internet jargon in normal sentences. :\
this is why I sometimes wish there was no option to comment on shirts.
yes. you can say whatever you want to about the shirt. It's allowed. However, if you truly thought about it, you'd REALIZE you're not helping anyone with the negative feedback. I've said it a million times before - this isn't a critique. The artist is trying to sell shirts. That's all. He's not trying to get feedback on what shirt color you like. He's not asking what you think about his color palette or his use of line. Frankly, he's not asking for your opinion at all. He's really only asking you to buy the shirt. Tee Fury is a great place to discuss shirts, but this particular page is probably the worst time to offer your unfounded criticisms. Negative comments could dissuade someone on the fence about buying the shirt. That doesn't do the artist any good. If you think that saying, "This smurfs - I haven't liked a single shirt since last week." is offering feedback to teefury, well - you're wrong. Feedback is when someone does, or doesn't, make a purchase. The curators see what sells and can use that as a gauge for what they choose to curate (assuming that they even care - personally, I feel that they sometimes take risks in the interest of making TF a well-rounded site - not full of cute jokes and played out clich that you find on a lot of other sites) So, as you're typing your very important opinion regarding the evident downfall of teefury, or how you hate skulls, birds, trees, animals in general, a grouping of objects or whatever else you - the king (or queen) of knowing what's awesome - thinks is pass please know that you're turning away other artists that might be interested in contributing and, in general, ruining what should be a great time for talented artists.
Gotta disagree with you, jecrt.
Designs are only up on this website for 24 hours, and artists only make $1 per shirt sold.
There have been designs that have went on sale here at the fury, and then the artist has changed them and re-submitted the design to other websites.
If an artist's design is chosen here on Teefury, and then 90% of the people agree that they would have bought the shirt if the artist had done "this" or "that" differently, that artist just learned a LOT to help aid the sale of his design(s) in the future.
That being said, the criticism has to be constructive, or it's just blatant negative criticism that, obviously, the artist is going to ignore.
And I say only $1, because I assume that Teefury doesn't sell thousands of shirts everyday.
I could be completely wrong, as I'm pretty new to the site, but yeah.

FuzzyLogic
So you decided to leave a negative comment.
What's wrong with people? I know you're *allowed* but why?
---------------------------------------------------------------
FuzzyLogic, I try to login and find something positive to say about the artists work each day...if I don't like the shirt then I try to comment on the works that I do like or maybe which design I'd of preferred as to encourage the artist and help the teefurry curators know what the customer base likes and doesn't like. I have a positive attitude and try to reflect that in my comments. I posted a respectful comment and simply left it at that I didn't have anything positive to say. I did not spout a bunch of immature smurf like others often do on here which I too think is pretty lame. It was my way of saying that I didn't care for the work in a subtle way and I really don't see anything wrong with expressing my opinion, thats what the commentary is for! Some of you people are very defensive and really need to chillax. If anything some of you are the ones acting like a buncha jerks. But hey, wtf do I know and I'm sure one of you will some how turn this comment around on me which is fine because I'm confident that the curators as well as others on this site get what I'm saying.
In addition, don't be such a tool mang...maybe it's just in your nature but not mine and I hope that I've made that clear to other teefuryist's out there :)
A word from the curator: The bold lines of classic comics never go out of style- they convey power and strength, daring all comers to do battle. I love the brashness of the illustration, about to deliver some serious pain to whoever makes the mistake of catching his eye.
Tell us the background of this design. I was reading an old Captain America comic from the 60's that Jack Kirby drew and there was this awesome fight sequence and it reminded me of the Outsiders which was also set in the 60's. So it's a Jack Kirby inspired greaser. What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you? I live in Oakland, CA and my girlfriend and I just started Tall Cat Studios to self publish our books and comics and the like. Stay tuned at www.thetallcat.com and www.thesecretlifeofmachines.blogspot.com for more. I also work part-time for Cinder Block which is one of the last independant merchandising companies in its league. Right now I'm working on new shirt designs for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' upcoming release and tour. Name a few of your favorite things. My girlfriend's bangs, when bands are so tough they name themselves after hardware manufacturers, like Coleman, VHS image quality, and black and white photocopies. And when I spot a semi carrying a load of flattened cars to the melting pot. What are your feelings on extreme weather? Well, I'm always extremely surprised how often I don't remember to bring a jacket when I go to the city. It is Always hoodie weather in San Francisco. Otherwise the Bay Area doesn't know what weather is.. wait are earthquakes weather? Do you prefer rock, paper, or scissors? Whenever I play that game something I like is hanging in the balance, it's a deal settler, and I prefer to win. I prefer having a complete arsenal. Scifi movies vs. fantasy movies: which would win the battle? The Battle for my Entertainment? I would try and broker a truce because by working together we all win.. especially me. Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much. My favorite shirt is my Misfits shirt. It's got an illustration by Pushead and it's printed on a heavy black Allstyle Apparel shirt that's lasted forever. I like a bit of durability and it's a good fit. Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium. Movies for sure but I like a good book. The best is a combination of the two that doesn't totally suck and for my tastes DUNE, No Country for Oldmen, and The Outsiders are a few examples of that phenomenon. But True Romance has to be my favorite movie of all time. What inspires your work? Other artists and whatever information I can get out of the client and I do lots of research. Some ideas have a certain feel to them and I try and match that with the music or movies I'm watching while I work. Justice's DVNO video kept me juiced the entire week I was designing for Rockband, for instance. Any shout outs? Big up to the 40th Street Corridor in Oakland, Jimiyo, and freelancers hustling everywhere!
