I've just bought the pills, as an easter treat to myself, seen as my grandma lined my pockets with crisp notes instead of chocolate... Now I feel compelled to use my aunt's festive offering too (that wasn't an easter egg, either) =D

different animal, larger print, less "rough", and it's a definite.
i would also make the letters more dominant.
it's interesting, has great potential, but it's not quite fully there.
not today, sorry.
i still love the concept!

I just bought the Pills shirt...Think this would look better on a black shirt, with the blue being yellow or something... the red/white/blue. *shrug* ...I guess everyone's a critic haha..

Every one else on here is a nut. This monkey king rocks too hard. Though I oddly feel like his face should be bigger, or there should be something more to the design. Somehow feels a little empty?

But he's way cool. I know one guy who's crazy for chimp stuff.

Also - monkey teaching robots? How I'd love to see that in action! ha!

Just wondering.. i ordered my shirts almost a week ago, and the order Still shows "processing".. how long do they take to ship a tshirt?

it hasnt even shown "shipped" yet..

does it ever show "shipped" or does it say "processing" all the way til it hits your door..?

For what it's worth, there are no Photoshop filters here -- these are scans of prints made using the same block I use to make the X-Ray Specs prints on my site. I printed them in black and scanned them in.

I like them but red is not a good choice as a background for a light blue/white picture. I like the simplicity, it reminds almost of a logo.

Animals are interesting because their gaze cuts right to the core- they don't care what hair style you favor, or what sneakers you've chosen. All they see is who you are and what you do. It's a refreshing kind of x-ray vision that eliminates the bullshit and showcases what matters. In some ways, animals are king.

Tell us the background of this design.
There's this king, see? Except he's--get this--a CHIMP. Also--hang on--he has X-ray glasses.

How did you get started designing t-shirts?
College record store needed a new shirt, I had a Dover book of cool old wood type. PRESTO! The black on black ones were extra fab.

What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Make more things.

What would be your dream job?
I kinda have it, except for the bill-paying part. The rest is superb.

What are your feelings on dinosaurs?
I'd--I'd rather not talk about that. I was told this interview would have no personal questions.

Do you prefer centaurs, griffens, or phoenixes?
Robots. Failing that, streamline cars from the 30s.

Pac Man vs. Donkey Kong: who would win the battle?
Pac-Man: all gums. Advantage, Kong.

Describe the last shirt you bought.
Safety orange, from the hardware store, on sale for $2.

What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
Spider-Man, hands down. Wherever there was a hang-up, there he was.

What are a few of your favorite websites?
Google image search and any imagescrapers that present me with a stream of random images. Loc.gov.
Craigslist, always Craigslist. (though there are certainly more mentions of guns 'n' gold here in Phoenix).
A couple whose first rules prevent me from discussing them.
Facebook has become oddly satisfying.

Any shout outs?
All praise be unto the El Rey patrons, website drivebys, and fans (some of them actually call themselves that, so there) whose "heh"s have kept me going.
