well there's an awesome take on the animal head shirt ^_^ i dig it. and i absolutely love the white tiger on the right. the jelly fish are cool too but i've had bad experiences with them in the wild sooooo yeaaaaah....
Great color but not so sure about the design... im not big on animal prints but that tiger would have been a better choice. ill have to wait till tomorrow to see if Teefury has a shirt for me.
Pretty cool. Nice use of two colors, they work nicely. Pretty creepy, but I still like it haha, magic x-ray vision of a tiger with all sorts of awesome curlies jutting out and around him. I love the effect you've done with the shading on the skulls below, that's my favorite part of this shirt :D
I'm actually in the process of trying to get that white tiger printed over at DBH. You can take a look at it here: http://www.designbyhumans.com/vote/detail/46479?page=1
hahaha and Soccerfun88, I couldn't stop laughing when I read your comment :D
Love the colors and I appreciate the skulls this time. It's not HUMAN finally.
Though I guess one could argue Georgia O'Keefe 8I
Anyway, I dig the color, I dig the style, mesoamerican swirlies very cool. Unfortunately, it's not something I would wear, but def something I can appreciate.
The colors are good, but the design is not. It just looks cluttered, as if you had three different t-shirt ideas, and decided to cram them all together into one t-shirt.
I think it's a sweet design and dig the colors for sure but if I hadn't just bought "The Pills" which also featured a feline face of some kind I'd be more keen on this. Almost moreso ~actually~
Meh, I don't dig animal themed shirts (I do however like animals, just not on my clothing lol) and in turn am gonna pass on this one. Congrats on the print though :)
christinec: "Do ya'll ever put any good shirts on here?"
To a person who actually types "ya'll", there probably won't ever be a shirt you will like. I even live in the south and am accustomed to tolerating people speaking that way all the time. But ugh, come on!
Really nice design! Not my style but I can appreciate it anyway. The tiger on the sidebar is cool too, love the colors.
ok, i'm usually not big on skulls and animal shirts, cause they aren't my thing and i can't really pull them off, but this shirt is AWESOME!!! i'm going to have to do some thinking seeing as i've already spent way too much money on t-shirts this month...
Step 1. Search around the internet for pre-made vector EPS and AI files.
Step 2. Jumble a bunch of 'em together and make a t-shirt design.
Step 3. Profit.
wasn't entirely sold on this in the first few seconds I saw it but the art and color choice captivated me...I know I have my complaints from time to time but this is a great tee and I'm glad I bought it!
congrats Mr. Luong and best of luck with the DBH print!
@Headless, your plan of searching for vector and AI stock files and compiling them into a shirt to make a profit would probably work, but this design was done purely by hand without the use of stock vector files. I do, however, see your point in that this design's conflicting elements make it seem like a bunch of separate images crammed into one to create a somewhat haphazard design.
unfortunately, this isn't going to be a buy for me, but i still very much appreciate it as quality work! i think what really bothers me are the three skulls on the bottom, they do sort of seem crammed on there, and make it seem like a little too much is going on in the shirt. i really hope the tiger shirt gets printed at DBH! love your stuff, keep up the good work!

and just for you guys and gals to know, I'm actually in the process of drawing out a jellyfish design at this very moment. The drawing is sitting in front of me as I type this and I have been working on it for the past hour :)
hopefully I can get the finished design printed here!
The first and only good animal based t-shirt that I've ever seen on this site (and possibly just about everywhere else). I commend you, Brian. :] It is colorful, creative, raw, elemental, and DIFFERENT. Kudos to you for picking this one, Jimiyo.
Hey Brian. Your art skills are definitely amazing! I also really like your color choice with this shirt!
The only thing making me question purchasing is your subject matter. I'm sorry to say that we see a lot of tigers, skulls, birds, and jellyfish in the art/design world. I'm surprised there isn't a tree in here because that would just top off the "things to include when designing a t-shirt" list.
I do feel however that with this particular design you arranged them in a unique way! I'm curious to see what you will go on to design.
and thanks curry23!
I highly agree with you; Tigers, skulls, birds, and jellyfish are very prevalent in the design world, probably because the subject matters sold pretty well. There's just an overload of these subject matters today because there's a notion that a design of a tiger/bird/skull/etc will be an instant hit... and to be honest, I fall prey to this thought process from time to time.
The good artwork is always showcased on the right in the artist's interview.
I'd much prefer the tiger with curling flourishes.
But noooooooooo
btw, skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone. skulls are overdone.
Word from jimiyo: Boom Shaka Laka! Brian is a future famous illustrator. Get this shirt, get a vacuum sealer, seal it up, bury it in the ground, cash in 20 years later. Or buy it, wear it, make everyone envious! I'm not joking. Brian is Uber Talented.
Tell us about the design: This design was based off one of my older watercolor works. I always wanted to put it on a shirt but never found the time to do so until now.
Tell us about yourself: I’m 20 years old and reside in California. I enjoy sunsets, scrabble, playing guitar, and art :) You have many awesome watercolor illustrations in your portfolio, were those for fun or business? For fun :D
What is your process like? Ideas start off in the sketchbook, or even on napkins. From there, I move onto a sheet of watercolor paper and plan as I go. Most of the time when I’m using watercolor, I’m experimenting and learning, so sometimes a finished piece comes out looking awesome!… and sometimes I throw it in a folder so it won’t see the light of day again. I like using ink, pens, and paper most of the time. As for designs, the computer is nice when you want to clean up your work and edit colors, but most of my designs start off with a scanned up ink-on-paper version of the finished design.
Have you always been naturally talented or did it take time and practice? Sometimes it may seem that I’m naturally talented, but in reality its just a lifetime of practice. I started drawing when I was really young, and years and years of excessive doodling add up. But still, I had to practice a lot during the past 3 or 4 years to get to where I am now. Practice makes perfect.
