Words from jimiyo: I've been following xiaobaosg for a long time long before I knew he was active in the online contest world. His work is beautifully rendered, almost too beautiful sometimes to be just on a shirt. Fortunately, this one's just right. I'm glad to he's in the apparel market for now, until he gets snagged up to higher illustration markets. Enjoy!

Tell us about this design:
The first reaction that came into my mind when I saw Gandalf the Grey, blowing a smoke of ship out from his pipe/mouth (in Fellowship of the Ring). so here it is a design inspired by that scene.

Tell us about yourself.

I'm a freelance illustrator and a kidult from Singapore. Believe in creating something out of nothing as an artist and was heavily influenced by Japan and Chinese culture. Check my blog if you are interested to know more about me. Haha

1) Chinese New Year Lightup events
Chinese New Year Events in Chinatown , Singapore whereby my illustration is actually projected on the building for 1 months.

2) Tiger Beer Translate your Modern Asia X IDN
I'm selected as one of 75 outstanding artists from across Asia-Pacific to join Tiger's Asian Kinetic Artists, This project was published in IDN Tiger Translate Gold and had held exhibition in a few countries and it still on going..

Yes , I been freelancing for shoes company , toy company , magazines , books (children or educational books) and websites on their print , poster or illustration. Actually , I only started to get involved in designing for apparel in 2007 after I saw Jimiyo winning design "Revelations". Jimmy's work had inspired me alot and had made me realised that I can do different things with my artworks , apparel is a good example.

Sketch on paper or on marcomedia flash , retraced and transfered to Photoshop or illustrator for finishing.
