Crammer- Where it says "Any Shout Outs?" there should be additional work by the artist directly below that paragraph. If it isn't on your screen, your computer may just be taking a while to load them all. It happens to me sometimes.
Lol'd at the similarities between this and yesterday's shirt. (Roses and skull, or at least... teeth in this one haha) Not a fan of skull shirts, and I don't seem to be alone in that, so the only thing I dislike about this design is that top skull-ish part of the swirl :)
BUT THAT ASIDE, I love this! Especially the colors and the treatment of the rose petals. So pretty.
I'm broke though, so my opinion probably shouldn't count >.
Like some of the others said, I really like the first design on the right. I would definitely purchase that one, but I am not a fan of the one for sale today.
This seem to be an unfortunate case of similar concepts being used next to each other. It's no fault of the artists, but it's got to be incredibly disappointing that they aren't getting sales because of this.
Agree with the sentiments about too many skulls, also with the design on the top right being potentially great on the shirt. Maybe I just want what I can't have.
tempted.... so very tempted... but i'm poor god damnit! and by the way, just because something isn't to your taste doesn't mean it's bad. good work to ALL artists doing any art! and very nice design and if i had money i'd buy it in a heart beat
Oh come on... are you seriously going to all argue that this is a skull shirt? Give it a break already with hating on skulls. Even if you must hate skulls, you barely even notice it in this design. Its something you have to work to find and when you do its a nice surprise because it makes the entire story come full circle.
Seriously, a set of teeth on a shirt and everyone freaks out about skulls. As someone said the last night, if you look back on the past months designs you will find that there are far far far more shirts without skulls and flowers combined then with. It just so happened that the curators picked the same styled designs this week. Maybe it was something in the air.
Not only that, but the past three skull shirts were all treated in different ways from one another so its not like its the exact same style every night. If you want to harp on one-track style head over to Woot.
I agree with Khorosho. It's not the artists fault that the curators decided to sell two shirts of the same theme one after the other, and it's unfortunate for the artists...
also - is this skull hatred on all skulls, or just human skulls? I mean, I don't EVER see elephant skulls - so you can't really say they're overdone, right?
I think it's a hatred of human skulls. You start wearing a bunch of skull shirts and you risk looking like that lame kid who listens to really bad metal when their reason for wearing as many skulls on shirts as possible is because they think it makes them metal. Skulls do NOT make you metal. Just thinking about it makes me stumble down the long line of other things that people do similar to this. Like, don't get me started on those tribal tattoos...
It is strange that there have been skulls for three days, and roses for two. I think a change is in order. Tomorrow better be something grand or we may all be extremely disappointed.
I still have to say though, I love the anticipation of waiting for the next days shirt. It gives just a little extra spice to life. Even though it's as simple as seeing which design is next, that unknown factor of "I wonder what's up for tomorrow..." fills a little bit of the heart. Life gets hard. It's not uncommon for a person to be utterly crushed by the (potentially) meaningless nature of life. This website helps fill some of that void. Just that little bit of exciting anticipation does a great deal.
Hmmm. I like how people are so defensive about their passion for skulls! It's almost endearing. And yes, Stormink, this has a mandible and a set of dentures, and if it isn't a full skull it is certainly part of one.
I actually love the design, I think it's the best use of skulls and roses if ever they were to be utilized together. (But come on, let people be upset with a played out and seemingly tedious theme!)
And jecrt: I agree! Throw on a narwhal skull, or the bone structure of an emu and I am DOWN. :)
This is a beautiful design, the whole death, love symbolism is great! I am not really a skull wearer but the trend of skull tee bashing is getting worse than the skull tee trend itself.
Akshully this is a humanoid skull for sure. Way to step outside of the box, but then the roses from yesterday are there to drag us back into the assumption that this "just another skull shirt" I'm ready for crazy cool odd stuff again. What is this, "Death wish t-shirt week"? whatever sells I guess, just stay in business I love teefury!
Sorry, no skull tees for me. Although this has meaning, I've never liked tees with skulls. I am not hardcore and do not pretend to be. I just want to love!!!
hmmm... lovely as it is, i do so wish that the Betty design had been chosen (?)
as to the prevailing commentary re: skulls: i don't see a skull so much as a dragon weaving its way 'round the thorny subjects.
i joined this site cause i thought it would be a new and different tee every day, but it's like the same thing over and over again just done a little different. please, let's mix it up!
A word from the curator: Two flowers, each standing only by leaning on the other, try to maintain their footing even as death swirls behind them, waiting to pounce. Symbolic, meaningful, and most importantly a great-looking shirt.
Tell us the background of this design. My goal was to end up with a main element that has an eye-pleasing, fluid motion but is also juxtaposed with some straighter, harsher elements like the rose stems. The balancing of the two was important to the overall concept. Death and Love play a large role in the message, but as with most of my designs, I prefer to leave it open to interpretation. What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you? How much I appreciate their support for artists like myself. It’s so cool that there’s such a strong community who visit these sites everyday to support amazing limited edition works of art. What do you absolutely not want them to find out? The secret to my awesomeness. Haha, just kidding…...it’s Mountain Dew. Name a few of your favorite things. My cats, screen printing, Garbage Pail Kid cards, Rock and Roll, Adobe Illustrator. What are your feelings on pyramids? Large and triangular. Do you prefer rockets, monster cars, or submarines? Hmm…rockets are pretty sweet. But so are monster cars. I’d like to see an event where they crash the two into each other while Dragonforce plays live. Who do I talk to about setting that up? Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much. Definitely one of the shirts I’ve printed for myself. It’s the Betty Grable design down to the right and printed on an American Apparel tee. The print is awesome and it’s wicked comfy. Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium. I’m not a gamer. I’ll play Guitar Hero or Rock Band and that’s it. As for reading or watching movies, I have to go with watching movies. Pulp Fiction is my all-time favorite.
I will say that David Sedaris is hilarious and everyone should read his books. What inspires your work? My life, other artists and music. I usually listen to a particular song over and over again while working on a design. I use the lyrics and mood of the song as my inspiration. This one came from Boys Night Out’s “The Anatomy of the Journey.” That’s a hell of a song… Any shout outs? To my good friends in Illinois, Michigan and California.

Um, no again.
Not considering the subject matter, the composition is sort of off.
Top right design is awesome, though.
