OMG I love this teeeeeee!!!! -
A word from the curator:
Imagine a world where creatures frolic in an environment of their own creation. I love all the beautiful and funny details, like the fellows who have hitched a ride on a duck to draw the sky and the little eyes peering out from inside tree trunks. Not only do I want to wear the design, I want to visit the place in it!
Tell us about this design:
With this design my goal was to really create something that worked with only one color that not only I would enjoy but that the average person would enjoy as well. So I came up with this tiny little world being created by the ambiguous little characters that you see in the design. The idea was for them to be drawing the world that they were living in. I really had a lot of fun creating this and hopefully it is a fun shirt that other people will enjoy!
How did you get into art?
As long as I can remember I have been making art. I have always lived in a small town so my outlet for exposure to the arts was somewhat limited growing up. I would pretty much draw my favorite cartoon characters and images out of magazines that I liked. I became very good at reproducing images but it wasn't until my college years that I really expanded my work and started to do more original pieces that where from my own mind. Now with all of the art forums and contest sites I have really been able to meet and expose my art to different people and it has been great.
If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
I would pay off all of my bills and give some money to my friends and family. Then I would travel around the world some with Amanda. After we were done with that I would set up an open art studio that would have a few small apartments and allow for artists to come and stay for periods of time to make art. I would love to be able to set up a place where people could just gather to do all things art and feed off of each others creativity.
Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years with your art career or other?
In 5 years I would really like to see myself exhibiting more in galleries. I would like to have a solo show somewhere. I would also like to be teaching art in some form whether that is in a more traditional school setting or some other venue.
Are there any ongoing art projects you would like to promote?
I don't currently have any of my own projects to promote but I would like to recommend that people check out Halo Halo. It is a new screenprinting studio and gallery partially run by a good friend of mine, Jan Avendono. You can view information about it at http://halohalo.ca/

I wish it had some nice color in it though, like the pink in the bird one on the right.
Is the bird one or the smurf-mouth guy on sale anywhere? o 3o

Again, I am angry about the different Women's colour. Silver > baby blue. GET WITH IT, TF!

Personally, tho, I think both look awesome :)

This design would be so amazing on red, hot pink, kelly green, I don't know... I really, really like it though... perhaps in this case, the design of the shirt will supersede my desire for a colorful tee.
Oh, and P.S. (sorry to make my comment so long) -- but is there info on the site about what color shirts are available for TeeFury to print on? I couldn't find anything :(
