A word from wotto: Lunchboxbrain, the man has been a good friend to me. From supporting me on threadless to blogging about me, he has always been patting me on the back. Now it's my turn. This design just works, simple. The colours are beautiful and the character has a charm that just pulls you in. Welcome sir!
Tell us a little about this design: Bathtime in B Flat was one of those ideas that randomly popped into my head. The notion of a little bird bathing in a spirit's saxophone tickled my funny bone so I put it all together and that's that. Stylistically, Chris Thornley had a big influence on me at the time I designed this; so props to Chris for the inspiration.
Where in the world are you?: I currently reside in upstate NY.
What is your favourite medium?: I'm 50/50 between #2 pencil on paper vs. the pencil tool in Illustrator.
Which superhero power would you like the most and why?: Being able to fly would be pretty sweet. Plus that would give me a reason to wear a cape in public. Win win.
Who is the best villain ever?: Hannibal Lecter. The dude plays mind games with you and then he eats you. Lose lose.
What was the last song you listened to?: My Music At Work by The Tragically Hip
Favourite quote/lyric?: "There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want" - Calvin & Hobbes
Who has been the best client you have designed for?: I designed two tees for Dutch Southern and the main guy at Dutch Southern, Jonathan Vara, was really great to work with. He was super excited about the designs and was very easy going throughout the whole process.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?: Oh man, that's a pretty long list. Nate Williams, Eduardo Recife and Julia Heglund (aka sonmi) would be my top three picks. They're all really incredible artists.
How many t-shirts do you own?: Not nearly enough! If I had to guess, I'd say between 50-75 tees.
Which website do you go to everyday?: I'm gonna cheat a little bit on this one and say Google Reader. I get all my tee blogs, tech blogs, design blogs and everything in between all in one spot. God bless RSS.
Want to promote a website/someone/yourself?: Heck yes, I do. You can learn more about me, my work, my printed tees and other good stuff on my website www.lunchboxbrain.com. Thanks for reading!
