Haha you guys need to be more secure in your masculinity. I love the design and the colors. The dealbreaker for me though is that the print is so small. Not to sound all picky and everything, but I have this thing where I feel kinda exposed or naked or something wearing a white shirt that has a bunch of blank space, namely where my nipples are haha. Just one of those personal things. Props to Tobias on the design, but this isn't for me.
What?!? I totally dig the statement of music in motion, passion in music. Sure the purple would not be my personal first choice in color but like DCBeatty implied, its not the shirt that makes the man, it the man! Also personally I like the off centered design. It gives me motivation to work my midsection :-P ! Awesome shirt Tobias. Yo Teefury, can I get a green/black techie shirt next!
I agree with metalwolf. In fact, it's the first thing I thought, even though after I looked at them side-by-side they're not that similar. Weird that someone else would immediately notice that.
Don't know about this one, but I would have bought the lion design.
Well that is very springtime of you!
And girly. So not my style. But it sure looks like lying in a park in Vienna feels. And in my books, that's a good thing!
I really really like the design, but being on a white shirt ruined it. Cream or banana, okay, but white shirts just seem to wear or get thinner or something. I'm extremely picky with shirts. D:
Hey guys, thanks for the good words! cardinalgoldstein, you're right, its a great gift from Valentine! :D
Beard man with organics forms? C'mom, i didn't use mathiole's work for reference in this work. His works is awesome, but this shirt is mine, i worked hard for this creation.
I understand that this community has mostly a male influence, but why the need to express the design is "girly" because of the delicate forms? I've rarely seen an illustration tagged as being "masculine" as if it were a negative connotation... It's as if it were "boy-y" or gender-neutral, it would be fine... but what about showing some love for the feminine designs as well? It's still a piece of artwork, try critiquing with respect...
Loving the design, although I look terrible in white so I won't be getting it. But it expresses exactly how I feel about music, so it's absolutly brilliant, as far as I'm concerned.
Nothing but positives to say about this.
I'm a girl and I think the shirt looks girly. While I know some people mean that in a bitchy way, I don't think its a bad thing. This site is almost always dominated by masculine designs; it doesn't hurt to cater to the female crowd every now and then.
Also, i don't think that it is the delicacy of the design (which is fantastic and imaginative, by the way, it really draws the eye) that makes this shirt look feminine. In fact, I don't think it is even the colors of the design. I think it is the fact that the design was put on a white shirt for the boys. I think for men if it had been put on black that it would have set it off very well and it wouldn't have looked so feminine.
But then, of course, you'd have the girls bitching about not being able to buy it in black because they don't like white.
Moral of the story is: you can never win. So just be happy with what you've got, folks!
@moral savvy: Yeah, there's no question that the shirt is feminine, I agree. However, the color of the tee and the placement on the shirt are simply relative. The colors and form are what make it "girly" to most; generally the community doesn't call tees with skulls on white "girly". They simply state they dislike the white shirt color selection.
You're exactly right about everyone having different tastes. It's just nice to see the constructive criticism. I believe the illustrator receives more relevant feedback that way; maybe I'm in the minority with that thought... :: shrug ::
Nice to see a more feminine design for a change. I don't know any guys who would wear this, but lots of women prefer the men's cut shirts. The placement's nice, too; it would be even awesomer if this design had extra curlicues extending around the back.
Designs on the right are great! The lightsaber-toothed tiger is one of the cleverest thigns I've seen lately. Love the lion and the bear design, too.
This piece is amazing, and who care's if its a little girly. And no, it doesn't resemble anything like the one from woot, sure its an old man and the placement may be the same but this one has so much more creativity behind it. How it seems like the music is engulfing the old man is a GREAT representation of how music consumes us. Stop dissing it...
Wow, thank you necrophyte and pers, I think the bird on the sidebar is by far the best design up today. The one featured today though is a very close second. Well done Tobias.
I really like this and the pink bird on the side. The movement in both of the make them really awesome shirt designs. It's nice too have a more feminine shirt every once in a while :)
@ sheyrakelley -- Well, I agree that the people on this site really need to smurf it up and find a way to give constructive criticism on shirts and designs - instead of just saying "bah it smurfs" or whatever. But those people are morons that deserve what they get and I hope that the artist has enough sense to realize that the people who don't care to express themselves intelligently usually don't have opinions that matter anyway.
But, I have to disagree in saying that the shirt color don't effect the femininity or masculinity of a design. There is a lot to be said for background composition. While it is true that some designs aren't swayed either way by the background color of a shirt, some are. This, I think, is one of them. Pink, Purple & White are more feminine looking on this particular shirt than Pink, Purple & Black would have been. I think the whole thing about placement doesn't matter on a gender scale and simply has to do with style preferences, though.
I really love this design. It expresses my feelings of music perfectly. The violinist has this stance expressing the most admirable exaltation in his own art that brings the most beauty possible to it.
I'm so glad that this is the design of yours to make it onto a shirt here, as I know that I'll enjoy this shirt like nothing else. In my opinion, this is by-far your best piece considering all the others on the sidebar.
but wtf is up with this .. when you post the word "mmm... this is so yummy yum yum yum.. mmmm mmmm mmm. " it is turned into some messed up sentence..? mm this is so yummy yum yum yum mmm mmm mmm?
I'm a violist so yeah, LOVE the shirt.
Unfortunately I didn't nab one because I learned about the site 2 days late. Boo hoo.
But hey, awesome work. Keep on truckin'!
A word from the curator: Music and art are intrinsically linked, each bringing out even more beauty from the other. I love the way this musician seems to be lost in the song he is creating as it swirls around him.
Tell us the background of this design. Well, in this design I want to express all te beauty that there is song, the colors and shapes, everything working together to make the drawing into poetry. What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you? I'm a simple guy, who works hard. What do you absolutely not want them to find out? Ohhh! My old designs on my Flickr page... Name a few of your favorite things. Coffee, music and my sketchbook. What are your feelings on professional sports? Professional sports? I dont know anything about that...Hey, drawing is a sport? Heheheh Do you prefer apples, oranges, or mangos? Mangos! Han Solo vs. Batman: who would win the battle? Hmmm...Batman, I hope! Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium. I like all of them but the best for me is to read a good book. I love Harry Potter series and I have just finished Philip Pulman's series The Dark Materials What inspires your work? Nature, animals...People and their feelings. So, everything can be inspiration, if you look right. Any shout outs? Of course! Thanks Tee Fury For opportunity (Michelle you're GREAT!), thanks the community, I really hope you like!

Though I've made my peace with purples and pinks lately, this is just TOO girly :c
And I played the VIOLA. Screw violins.
...I wonder how hard it would be to play the violin with a beard like that.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but, I want that pink bird on a shirt.
I have no sense of "masculinity" and "femininity" so I would totally get this shirt.
I say "would" because I personally think the old guy on the violin's an eyesore. The rest of the design is wicked.
I like sentences that start with "I".
