I am soooo backing Bobby Kong. He'll do a Balboa on that Typhus' ass. Leon's work is perfect for t-shirts, clever, funny, interesting, well designed and edgy. Perfect. This is Leon's 2nd time at teefury and I hope he comes back to strike us a 3rd.

You have skills, how did you acquire them?
Standard Skill Acquisition Form #227, submitted after spending ten years fiddling with Adobe Illustrator on my own
 
So tell us how you developed this T-shirt design, what was the starting point?
I like old poster art and monkeys and hilarious violence.  It all clicked into place.
 
Which T-shirt do you wear the most?
Diodes Are a Girls Best Friend by Travis Pitts from Threadless.  I also wear a tattoo designed by him with remarkable frequency.
 
Name one artist you think is underrated?
Ragnar.  He's an awesome poster artist and makes vector respectable.  It's nice to see someone proving that it's not just the work of machines.
 
Star Wars or Star Trek?
Trek please, but only Original Series or Next Gen.  To be honest I'd rather watch Family Guy Blue Harvest though.  I can't wait until they take on Empire Strikes Back.
 
Which 5 famous people would you like to have dinner with (dead or alive)?
Drew Barrymore seems like she'd be easy going.  Richard Hammond would be fun, he seems like my kind of guy.  Patrick Stewart just to listen to him speak.  Kurt Cobain because he was the voice of my generation and I'd love to try to save him.  And Jim Henson to beg for a job in his Creature Shop.
 
What is book would you suggest for people to read?
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
 
Who has been the best client you have designed for?
As far as prestige goes I once designed a logo for a label called Rockstyle which was launched by a hollywood agent or something, but I only got 50 bucks for it and she went on to make a fortune and clothe celebrities in it.  It was pretty cool seeing Anthony Keidis wearing my brand though.
My actual best client though is a tee brand called Dangleberries who loved everything I did and allowed me to draw pretty much anything I wanted provided it was sexy and irreverent.  I don't think the tees I did for them ever made it into production yet.
 
Who would you most like to dance with?
I don't dance.  I maintain an aura of quiet dignity, but Andre 3000 looks like he could cut a rug.
 
What plans do you have for 2009?
Get famous, make a fortune, play Destroy All Humans 3
 
What animal would you be re-incarnated as and why?
Monkey for sure.  You ever see that video of a young gibbon swinging through the trees and taunting a tiger by yanking it's tail just to be a smartarse?  That's the life for me.  Fresh fruit, tree swinging, and being a little bastard.
 
Who’s portfolio website do you envy?
McBess.  Although largely because I envy his work.  The site itself is great too but no site is any good without sweet content.
