Words from jimiyo:
I saw this design, and although it's not the type of design I gravitate towards and curate because of it's simplicity, I found it to have that X factor. I just like it, and I feel like it's gonna be one of my favorite shirts. I hope you guys like it too.
Tell us about this design.
I try to do some warm-up sketches in the morning, to get the creativity oozing (is that the right word?). Also I have an unhealthy obsession with Bigfoot, sea serpents, and anything cryptozoological. This is one morning’s result.
Tell us about yourself.
Let’s see, I’m a 26 year old graphic artist from NY. Right now I work as a designer and occasional illustrator at an agency here on Long Island. The rest of the time I work on as many freelance and personal projects as possible.
Likes: art, music, video games, cooking, my cats and Christina.
Dislikes: politicians and spiders
Are there any ongoing art projects you would like to promote?
I’ve gotten back into silk-screening recently and will be selling a number of art prints and possibly t-shirts in the near future. The first print will be in honor on one of my favorite writers, Edgar Allen Poe. So if you’re interested please check my website www.visualsingularities.com often. In fact you’re probably going to want to bookmark it and set it as your home page.
In a duel to the death, Jean Luc Picard or Captain Kirk? And Why?
I'll go with Professor X on this one. He had to deal with omnipotent pranksters like Q, while Kirk just had some trouble with tribbles. Plus Kirk is kind of a dick.
You are on Death Row. What's your last supper?
Probably my Mom's chicken parmesan, a large meatball pie from Anconas, and a tub of rainbow Italian ice for dessert.
That, or a massive bowl of gun powder, so that when they light me up, I go off like a heavy artillery weapons cache all over the walls and look like a lost Jackson Pollack on the ceiling. That’ll show ‘em.
If applicable, if being an artist was not an option, what would be your second choice profession?
If I hadn't been seduced by art at a young age, I'd probably be President by now. In a way it's a shame this great nation was deprived of my leadership. Either that or a chef.
Any shout outs?
Thank you to my parents for never once recoiling in horror when I decided to pursue a career in art. To my girlfriend Christina for just being awesome in general and having the patience of a saint. And to Jimiyo and TeeFury for the opportunity to introduce myself to everyone. Thanks everybody!
