Haha, I saw the birds instantly. I think I've been on TeeFury too much ^-^, too many birds, though that's not a bad thing.
Loving this shirt. Tempted to buy it but seeing as I just purchased 2 hoodies this week, though cheap... :[
I don't know but how does eagles represent friendship? Do you see eagles flying together and going fishing with their buddies? This shirt oughta be called... Eagles or something.
Anyway, finally some splashes of vibrant colour on a shirt - but I can't agree on this design, which despite being cheerful and nicely packed, imho is a little vague n ambiguous.
@googooboyy: yes, i can understand you, really.
it started just an experiment with shapes so the eagles and hawks (there are 5 hidden btw!) are totally meant in a aesthetic meaning, i love it how the splatters (never intended being blood or sth like that, i used them in order to underline the vibrant composition) form the hinted body of a bird and out of this hinted body other birds develop, are merged with each other.... the title just developed during the finalization, because of personal issues... so as i said, the forms are having just aesthetic values.
just after i published it, several people pointed out that there could be a latent ambiguilty and with this statement i want to make clear that i, as the designer, never intended it.
My focus was on the composition and the experiment itself... i wanted to make a design which does not show every detail on the first sight because i love (shirt)designs which let you discover more and more detail time by time.... and many comments prove that people find the 5 birds not on the first sight, but they "enjoyed" finding the others afterwards, just as i intented and like it :).
And this design is more than 10 months old so you cannot talk about a trend, cliche or whatever because of using birds and splatters in a design ;) at this time i was really experimenting and trying new methods...
I love drawing eagles and hawks, im not saying your followign a trend but will saw that this "trend" has been around longer then 10 months.
im digging this and would get it but I have to pay for a flight to canada
I really like it, although, I thought I saw six birds...I thought the splatter at the bottom right (under the two eyes) was another one. However I'm trying to add more color to my wardrobe (lol) so I'm gonna pass on this.
I do, however, love the Revolution design, is that available anywhere?
Words from jimiyo: What can I say, I love black shirts. I have about 4 blank black shirts, and about a dozen with designs. Another one won't hurt, especially this one with just the right amount of color and style. It's like Artur channeled Emeril and Jackson Pollock and BAM!
Tell us about this design. It started as an experiment with brushes and shapes, but turned out as something more. In general, you can say that its about friendship. Tell us about yourself. So my name is Artur Neufeld, I am a 18-year-old, german based and self-taught digital artist. Currently, I am going to school like everyone else, but (digital) art was accompanying me since I was a child and hopefully it will follow me in the future, as well.
Are there any ongoing art projects you would like to promote? Yes, I want to promote my official portfolio www.staticmoment.com because it is not well attended and thats a pity I think .... So please blog it, spread the link, shout it at strangers, I really appreciate every promotion!
In a duel to the death, Jean Luc Picard or Captain Kirk? And Why? Mhh thats a hard question so I asked a good friend of mine, Google, and he says that Captain Kirk will be the winner because of 597.000 more entrys. So easy is it nowadays!
You are on Death Row. What's your last supper? Oh I dont know... the main thing is that it should be delicious. And I think my last supper wont have superior status when I would be on Death Row, anyway.
If being an artist was not an option, what would be your second choice profession? Eventually, the main aspect of a (second choice) profession is for me that that you can fulfill oneself with it. Thats in my opinion the most imporatant criterion in getting closer to an harmonious life. I just can tell you what I never want to be because it would never satisfy me: Bank employee. (Yes, I made personal experience during some weeks of internship.... such an horrible insitute)

I'm just kidding. But seriously, this design kicks ass. I love the work in the sidebar too.
