Being first does not make you cool. Reflect on this. -
From the Artist:
Proceeds from the sale of this design will go to East Nashville Cooperative Ministry. It is within the community in which I live. Although I find myself to be so calculating that I can rationalize out most charitable donations as being indiscriminate and ineffective, I have actually visited the small building in which ENCM resides and feel that even a small donation would help.
Hope: To expect with confidence.
Please excuse me for having another design so soon in succession, but I felt that with 2009 approaching, this design would be pertinent, not to how we should start the year, but how we should prepare ourselves mentally before the year even starts.
The other day, I went for a long, challenging run, mostly uphill, and when my roommate and I reached the end, I said, as my legs ached, and my lungs gasped for air, "I wanted to quit a long time ago."
As soon as the words left my mouth, it occured to me, that the sentiment echoed a dark feeling I had felt many times a mere year or two before, not about running, but about jobs, relationships, art, mainly about life.
So often, at least in my experience, even though I am a young buck, I let years pass me by without even thinking about my life, without examining it for it's worth and purpose beyond the status quo. How easy is it to become preoccupied by the mundane, the drudgery of maintaining a livelihood? I think that is why, before, I had felt such notions of despair, and wanting to quit.
I don't know when or where the turning point was, but it occurred. I do not know the catalyst(s) that precipitated the change, but the final product after everything burned down was an ember of hope. After I was torn down, Hope was still there.
“What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise” -Oscar Wilde
So like the Phoenix, my life went under transformation, burned down to be born anew with greater intensity and focus, and greater Hope for things I cannot even visualize.
So, for 2009, I have great Hopes. I expect with confidence, great things are to happen.
For those of you who may not have considered what 2009 may bring, know too that if you choose, your life can go under transformation and great things can happen. It only requires that you notice that you are either a passenger or driver; and that you switch seats or plot a destination, and take a more proactive approach in driving towards a destination of your choosing.
Teefury 2009
For 2009, I have great hopes for Teefury. I promise for 2009, I will do my best in finding good art, creating good art, and in helping Teefury grow. Although I am just a freelance employee of Teefury, on behalf of the team, I would like to thank those of the Teefury community, lurkers and participants, that make this website a success.
Cheers ;j

I'm hoping I can drop some decent dough on the ENCM.
I dropped off a 35 gallon tub full of clothes, jackets, pants, etc the other day, cause they have a kinduva Goodwill-ish store to support their initiatives. It felt good to help in that manner. They were very appreciative. Neat how something that has little value to me, can actually be of value to someone else. It's interesting to think that if I could find a few other people interested in helping out the co-op, it could really make a difference.
BLAH BLAH. Imagine if Teefury started selling like 2000-3000 shirts a night... That would be awesome. That kinda dough would start really making some waves.

no matter your place in life
you don't have far to look to find someone worse off than you
good luck with your cause, jimiyo

one of my fave quotes! though sometimes, i wonder if i examine too much. paralysis of analysis. like what was my motivation for this charity act. was it altruistic or is there some subconscious selfish motivation. etc etc. i guess it dont hurt nobody. besides this shirt still has a chance of totally flopping in sales and not helping out much at all. which would smurf.
another one of my favorite quotes, "And that's my momma!" - Peter
