Tell us the background of this design.
This, like a lot of my designs was inspired by Nautical and American Tattoo design made popular by the one and only Sailor Jerry. It's interesting that I'm writing about the background of this design because this piece was one of the first designs that I didn't really know were I was going with it. I knew it was going to be a mythical Sea Creature wreaking havoc on a clipper but unlike most of my designs, it was not fully thought out before I put pencil to paper. This was traditionally drawn and hand inked; then colored in Photoshop and Illustrator.
Age/Sex/Location-How long have you been an artist? What kind of artists are you?
Age:33 Location:Nashville
I have always been into art, ever since I can even remember. I remember drawing pictures of Popeye and drawing anchors on my own arms at a very early age. But as far as professionally, I've been designing for about 10 years. I work full time at a corporate in-house design department and I freelance in my twilight hours. I'd call myself more of a Graphic Designer than an "Artist."
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere, I'm sure like most people I find inspiration in life, music, movies, dreams, and alcohol. Most of my inspiration comes from tattoo design, B-Movie & Exploitation Movie posters art; as well as old traditional wood block designs.
Paper or plastic?
Plastic is better for dirty diapers so for now I'm diggin plastic.
XBOX, Playstation or Wii?
Gotta go with PC, recovering WOW addict ;0)
What do you love more than anything in the world?
myself
What do you hate more than anything in the world?
wooden spoons
Most overused word in the English Language?
"Yes"
Most annoying celebrity and why?
Bill Maur(Is he a celebrity?) He thinks he's so freakin cool! I can't stand how into himself he is. You're not funny Bill!
Favorite band and why?
Favorite bands come and go, Right now I'm really back into "The Cramps" I'm a big fan of rockabilly music and I love their throwback to artist such as Carl Perkins, Charlie Feathers, Jerry Lee Lewis (The Killa); but with their own flava. I've also been really into the Gypsy Punk Movement made popular by Gogol Bordello and Kulture Shock.
What do you do when you're not creating art?
When I'm not creating art I'm usually exploring music, being a family man or cooking some of my wold famous Gumbo.

However.. I am LOVING the bull vs. bear shirt on the right.. I know A LOT of people that would either buy it or that I would get it for (i work in the financial industry).
Also.. the middle one "You're so vain" is stunning.. definitely on my wish list.

I just wanted to see what would happen since people always try to put "First!" and nothing happens to them.
I don't give a smurf what you think about me.

Sorry I had to miss out on your shirt Jimiyo, your work is fantastic. I always like what you put up and I can appreciate your style. I only have "We've Upgraded" so I really need to get my hands on some more of your work.
Anyway, I like the color combo here on this print. Teefury is amazing!
