A word from the curator:
The changing of seasons is almost magical- and for me this design is a great display of what it's like for a tree caught in the chaos of that transition. The white of the wintery snow seems to chase the color right out of the piece, giving the design a lot of motion despite the stoic stillness of the tree.
Tell us the background of this design.
To me, it means the cross-over between the seasons. You see the yellow circles for the summer sun, the tree for the fallen leaves, the blue for the ice/snow to come, and finally, the lines which represent the crossover of those three seasons. I also relate this to cross-overs in our lives. I guess you could say change.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I'm just a guy trying to be a good designer and live a happy life.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
That I'm 11. Also, that I LOVE the BULLET BOYS. Don't tell anyone.
What are your feelings on pirates?
My feelings are that I love BlackBeard! I mean the guy use to weave hemp into his beard, and light it during battle to strike terror into the hearts of his enemies. Plus, Goonies is pretty rad.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Newcastle, Artline 0.4 Ink Pens, my dogs Bubba n' Gump, Monster Energy Drinks, Sirius Radio
Who is your favorite president?
I'd probably say Clinton so far. I mean our budget was balanced when he was in office. I was too young to know Reagan, stupid teenager with Clinton, and in tears with Bush. Obama might be my favorite now, we'll see!
Which is the most awesome: having a monkey butler, setting a monkey free in the jungle, or using radioactivity and mutagens to grow a monkey to King Kong proportions?
I'd say the most awesome would be for me to tell my monkey butler to go to my buddy Kurt Otto's or Fred Savinon's house and slap there faces and pull there #uts to wake them up!
Where would you most like to visit, and why?
Lame, but probably the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I'd say Movies. I'm down with anything Ben Stiller, Will Farrell or situations I'd never want to be in like the movie Felon!
What inspires your work?
It's weird because I usually start with something small like a hand-made font, image or texture and then things just bloom from there. I like to look at my work and build a story off of what I see. One thing turns into another and at the end, it has a collage-type feeling where the viewer can decipher there own story.
