when you wear this shirt, it makes you invisible. it also has warding incantation that keeps you impervious to cold, or from having excited nipples. ;P

  • eludingsunsaid 166 weeks ago

    i wonder with cls62... where's the models?
  • maxhersheysaid 166 weeks ago

Okay, this is sweet! Gotta have one!
  • peppersagooddogsaid 166 weeks ago

what an obnoxiously fun looking shirt.

I never know what japanese text means. I mean for all I know, it could say "asshat", or not even be japanese.

I'm really digging this design though, foreign text included

    I think I may've tripped a little bit when I saw this.
  • jecrtsaid 166 weeks ago

    awesome!

You REALLY need to make a shirt or two out of the illustrations in your sidebar.
  • herkysaid 166 weeks ago

Congrats! This is such a sweet design.
  • damochimonstersaid 166 weeks ago

    shweet! this is awesome, dude.
  • dus1129said 166 weeks ago

The words.....just doesn't make any sense at all. The 2 big chinese character means "movement". I guess they wanted to translate "action".
  • savorybaconsaid 166 weeks ago

Most excellent, really digging the colors used for this design.
  • icecubesaid 166 weeks ago

Chinese? Though they (動作) have the same meaning in Chinese because most of the Japanese written language was derived from Chinese, this shirt is supposed to have Japanese on it.

And 動作 can mean movement/motion, but can also mean action, even in Chinese.
  • superchicosaid 166 weeks ago

The katakana on the door is a transliteration of "ultra", not "ultraman". But unfortunately, the first kanji is written wrong. :( If it weren't for that mistake, I'd buy this one because the rest of the art is pretty awesome.

"I hope it says that anyways."

Why would you use writing that you don't understand in a design? It's not hard to find a Japanese speaker to verify your characters.
  • Vo1turesaid 166 weeks ago

This is a cool illustration, not something I would wear, but keep up the work. Oh btw, the side images are sickkk.
  • greasebatsaid 166 weeks ago

Thanks everybody. I like the mistaken kanji as it reminds me of Japanese clothes from the 80's with weird English phrases....I suppose I coulda gotten it done right...
  • atomicchildsaid 166 weeks ago

    great artwork
  • momomikesaid 166 weeks ago

the katakana on the car reads "u-lu-to-ra." i'm not sure how ultraman is commonly written in katakana, but i would think it could be written "u-lu-to-ma-n." if you look in this picture: http://blog.q-taro.com/archives/pics/2007/05/ultraman01-thumb.jpg , ultraman is properly written in katakana on the lower left side in red.

nice, thank god the models are gone...
  • Benyaminsaid 166 weeks ago

haha, I'm an English teacher in Japan and I have some kids who would love this shirt. Unfortuantely, it doesn't come in kids sizes. oh well, I actually might buy it for myself though....
  • moetineeshasaid 166 weeks ago

i can never justify wearing clothes with word that i don't know what they mean. like getting a chinese tattoo or something. aside from that, i have very mixed feeling about this shirt. it leaves me with a feeling of "...oh?"
  • crowface63said 166 weeks ago

it looks great.. I like the colors.. but I just can't see me wearing it.. I guess I'm not the "Japanese shirt" type. or is it even Japanese?
  • Chisaid 166 weeks ago

  • Arrowsaid 166 weeks ago

    Nice illo! Congrats Jeff!
  • thelearnedpigsaid 166 weeks ago

This may come off as me sounding like a PC smurf, but why are the headlights given the appearence of like "slanted eyes"? Clearly you are celebrating the Asian influence, but that detail make me feel like you are subversivley poking fun as well. Who knows? I am probably reading way too much into a t-shirt design.
  • todd999430said 166 weeks ago

You're reading too much into it.

It looks like a beetle to me... or perhaps a different insect with little tusks... or something out of a DC comic.

  • campkatiesaid 166 weeks ago

    fun!
  • Asterixsaid 166 weeks ago

    I really dig this one.
  • phoebe mariesaid 166 weeks ago

oh, jeff lamm and your awesome smurf! how can the world NOT adore you? i know I adore you (and this shirt), as i sit here in my Booska shirt, and look up at the print of the other creepy gentleman that i bought from lowlife. your awesomeness surrounds me. yay!
  • greasebatsaid 166 weeks ago

learnedpig, I was thinking more of laughing eyes when I drew that, sorry if you took it the wrong way.

phoebe you are truly a person of exceptional style and good taste.

all buyers-Thanks! Critics-thank you too, duly noted for future endeavors
  • DeusExMachinasaid 166 weeks ago

    Hey Jeff,
Just a quick note to clear up some misstatements by some of the posters above.
Ultraman in Katakana, would be u-ru-to-ra ma-n, or ウルトラマン. That said, there is nothing incorrect about having ウルトラ on the side door. The last two katakana are just the letters for ma-n.
BTW, the kanji for Ultraman (at least that used for the Ultraman nexus series) is 超人.
The kanji for action are fine, or you can use the similar, perhaps slightly more applicable 行動.

    Mark in Pgh.
  • DeusExMachinasaid 166 weeks ago

smurf, the katakana and kanji don't show up here. Oh well. I can e-mail 'em if it's important.
  • frreddsaid 166 weeks ago

    this is amazing!!
not really a kanji fan. or shirts with writing for that matter. but it totally works for this design.
    nice work!
  • razz007said 166 weeks ago

Hotrods and japanese monsters, 2of my favorite things.
  • greasebatsaid 166 weeks ago

Thanks Mark! I copied the Ultraman katakana straight from a toy box and compared it to several other sources, I'm glad to hear its correct as I have it tattooed pretty big on my forearm!

Glad you guys dig this and I'm inspired by the positive response...thx!
  • ericisbarbericsaid 166 weeks ago
