It's times like this I don't like the color restriction. If the masks were all the TMNT colors this would be an instabuy. As it is i will sleep on it. Congrats on the print!

The Turtles originally all wore red.

I really like this...but I'm not sure that I LOVE it, and I've got several Mario-themed TeeFurys. Hm....

but..all the ninja turtles had the same colour masks in the original comics. and this is an homage to issue number one's cover..

I agree. If it was more discernible with their actual colors that these are also ninja turtles then I'd be more about it. That being said, the shirt still is awesome! I love all things Ninja Turtle related and have been waiting for weeks now to see another one, so there's a chance I might get it. Good job!!

Instabuy, funny thing was I was waiting to see what today's tee was gonna be because I didn't want to buy yesterday's and then be like oh god now I gotta buy this one, and so i was at checkout an then bam, the new shirt was up.

That was their original colours?

Yes, it is. TMNT began as a series of graphic novels in 1984. Their headbands were all red and the way to differentiate the turtles was by what weapon they used.

If you design a shirt right, color restrictions don't matter. I bought a teenage mutant ninja zombies shirt from somewhereelse that had all 4 colors of the masks but actually it wasn't. The shirt was red so one color. They actually made purple by making thin lines of blue so every other was blue then red. Up close, it was red with blue lines but from a distance it was purple. They got 2 color masks out of the one blue color. Orange was made with yellow in the same design as purple so it made orange.

Tell us a bit about this design.

For my wedding anniversary my wife got me the original turtles issue 1 second print. (What can I say, she is just awesome.) So in my excitement I started to talk about how the cover is inspiring and that it tells you all you need to know about your heroes. And then I remembered four small little koopa brothers. So like most artists I pulled two things from my childhood to create the design that you see today.

Where are you from?

I am from what seems to be the coldest spot in Ohio… Cleveland. And if you look up hastily made Cleveland tourism video on YouTube you can see what I mean.

What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?

I am just your average geek who is working to break into comic books as a penciler. I have a web comic series that I haven’t updated in a while (mainly working on shirt designs). I was once a teacher, and worked in theater as a costume designer for many years. I even designed some things for Sea World of Ohio when they were here.

What do you absolutely not want them to find out?

That at night I work at a crematory and that is when I get most of my designs done. (shhh… it’s a secret.)

Name a few of your favorite things.

Well we will start with my wife, than move onto my pets and comic books… You know this is a harder list than I thought. I mean I have so many favorite things that it’s hard to list them all. But we will keep the wife at the top (if not I may be in trouble.)

What kind of art did you make as a kid?

I did everything I could do. I took a couple summer art classes at the Cleveland Museum of Art, where I learned a lot about the history of art. I also learned to work in crowds. As I would be drawing a suit of armor or just working on a project in the museum, I would start to have a crowd gather around watching me draw. It took some time getting used to it but I think it opened up my mind to input and notes at a very young age.

What is your favorite thing about turtles?

Are you really asking me that question? I mean all that comes to my mind right now is that zombie boy saying “I like turtles”. Next question please.

Ninjas vs. pirates: which would win the battle?

Well if it were to take place on the high seas than the ninjas would win. I mean think about it, in order for the ninjas to get onto the ship they would have to sneak on. If that is the case than they would have time to set traps and kill some of the crew members. But if it took place on land than… yeah the pirates are screwed either way.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.

Kremlins, I love the Gremlins movie and I think that was the first shirt that I bought from tee fury once I was introduced to it. After that I would say the ones that I have designed; it always makes me happy to see one of my ideas sell and get made.

Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.

This is just like my favorite things list, it’s a hard one to pick. Gun to my head I would have to say movies. That way I can still draw while it is on. As my favorite title I would put it between “Kung Pow! Enter the Fist” and “Galaxy Quest”. Both movies I can just have playing in the background and enjoy while drawing.

What inspires your work?

I am a child of the 80’s, which meant we had some great cartoons. So I would have to say my childhood inspires a lot of my work.
