It's Star Trek

It's from Star Trek. The "red shirts" are random people on the crew that always seem to die.

From the series Star Trek, in the series usually the people in the red shirts end up being killed off if I'm correct.

In Star Trek (The Original Series, specifically) Security personnel wore red shirts. On away missions, anyone wearing a red shirt that was not a main character would die in an unceremonial manner. This was a rule of thumb until in The Next Generation when red was chosen as the Command color.

Problem is I'm kinda broke right now.
So I'm gonna take a moment to debate whether it's more important for me to eat or buy another red t-shirt.

Today, I feel old.

This may not help, but despite being 20, I fully understood this reference. I also bought the Adopt a Tribble shirt, as that was my favorite episode. My guinea pig was names Tribbles.

Dude I'm in high school and I got this one. I love this shirt so much and would proudly be a red shirt if I wasn't literally broke. Props on the print :)

Having learned this is definitely helping to sway my decision toward "Buy" (as opposed to "Pass") since my current job is that of a security officer. That, combined with having red as my favorite color...I feel as though I'm destined to enlist as a red shirt!
Which also means I should start making my will soon. ^^;

They're not random. They're the security officers... which is why they're usually the first to go!

I think you've got the last sentance confused with star wars there :') unless Disney bought star trek too...
xxsighxx said 15 weeks ago
I'm an 18 year old girl and I get it. Don't worry about being old, people should know Star Trek.
GUSHandGO said 15 weeks ago
Umm... except you just referenced Star Wars ("episodes 4-6" and "what disney will do..."). WTF?

It's like people who use their age as an excuse for not knowing the music of The Beatles or the films of Charlie Chaplin. There's a reason things are preserved! Stop watching "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" and listening to One Direction and div into some classics!
I started watching Star Trek in grade school with my dad in the '80s. I've been a fan ever since.
