Teefury

Tell us about this design Jimiyo: It's a sequel to my original Lovecraft Cthuhlu design I created two years ago. It's obviously inspired by HP Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos, but it's also inspired by the artist Virgil Finlay. I love how he's able to form shapes and depth with just black and white marks. I tried to keep it just B&W, but ended up cheating and using several colors. DERP! I had fun though, it was a challenge to sit and think how objects would look being lit from below.

We obtained some questions from Facebook!

Sara asks, when are you going to print an Eggs shirt? I would approve a Mr Eggs design if he reached 100K Facebook fans... if you want to help him get to that point, feel free to help spread the word. ;)

Charles asks, what makes you think "I wanna draw right now, I need to do this!"? When I see Aaron Horkey's work, it typically makes me want to get back into drawing. Artistic portraiture usually inspires me as well.

Rivka asks, did you have formal training? I have a minor in Art from University but I would probably only consider 12 of those credit hours actually worthwhile. Bookmaking and some of the other classes were a joke and an easy A. Tidbit: My professor failed me. I had to retake Drawing II. Granted, I missed a few or maybe many classes, but I received zero warnings. I like to erroneously recall that she was going through a divorce and would miss class herself, so I figured it was okay to follow the leader.

How long have you been doing this? I've been doodling since 5 years of age, and I've been in the t-shirt art industry since 2005. I landed my first art job as a t-shirt artist at a Nascar-client-centric print shop, and I've been shirting ever since.

Glenn asks, best Candy? I love SKOR, Werther's Original, and although not candy, Listerine Strips.
