Teefury

I'm not sure there's a specific style I'd like to learn; but that said, there are loads of my contemporaries whose skills I admire. Megan Lara's and James Hance's artwork just amazes me; they both have such a grasp of light, shadow and color, and you get the sense that it all comes naturally to both of them. I'm equally impressed by artists whose line work just seems so perfect and effortless; and in that category I can cite a number of awesome artists as influence, including the incomparable Crystal Bam Fontan (Bamboota), her arch nemesis Nik Holmes, as well as Kari Fry and Nathan Davis (Obvian). And then there's Karen Hallion, who just has an incredible grasp of the female form (and the way she illustrates curly, flowing hair is just amazing). 

Hmm, I'll say the Victorian Era. I'm pretty sure I'd look awesome in a top hat and coat tails! 

Financial stability! Also, I'd love to design Lego sets professionally. :D

If you could stop any t-shirt trend in its tracks, which would you end? 

Oh, I'd definitely stop the trend of putting Internet memes on t-shirts. You know, right after today's tee. :D

Bear, definitely! I wouldn't let anyone else know he was tame, mind you. I'd throw elaborate dinner parties for the well-to-do, and then during all the haughty-taughty talk about this and that, I'd call the bear to room and have him stand up on his hind legs and let out a mighty roar! Yes, yes; that would be most awesome. And I've probably not thought this through very well. :D

Coffee, of course! Coffee is brash and in-your-face, while tea is quiet and contemplative. No one ever gets rowdy after drinking tea! 

I think the first tees I designed were set of caution signs for my friends. I don't recall all of them offhand, but one said "Beware the Womboose," which is kind of like a jackalope, but it's cross between a wombat and moose. Another said "Dial-Up Duane has been Disconnected," and featured a sad-looking signage-type person holding a telephone with a cut cord. And, wow, that must have been a while back now! 

I'd say that being part of a collective of artists has been incredibly inspiring. I toiled away for years doing art more or less on my own, having no contemporaries with whom I could either commiserate or collaborate. That's changed now. Thanks to the Internet (and I suppose Facebook, in particular), I now talk to other artists daily, and many of them have become good friends, too. 

The usual crew: Matt Parsons, Megan Lara, Karen Hallion, Aaron Fimister, and all my other friends across the various artist groups on Facebook. And this time, I'd also like to acknowledge my grandmother, who recently passed away. She always pushed me to draw; every time I'd visit, she'd have colored pencils and paper there for me, and I'd doodle endlessly. So I'd just like to give her a big thanks for her encouragement throughout my life. :)
