Tell us a bit about this design.
This design came about when my best friend wanted a unique birthday present for his brother. He had thought of the idea of making an 8-bit shirt with the Blues Brothers as these brothers for a while but didn't have the ability to actually create it on his own. I put a design together for him and from it I got my first TeeFury printing :)
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Olympia, Washington to be specific . Currently I reside in Idaho.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I'm a Fine Arts graduate of Washington State University, Go Cougs! Currently, like most college grads, I’m trying to find work with my degree, and some friends said I should start trying to design shirts and do online commission work.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
There was this one time, and I swear it only happened once, but I bought a shirt from a competitors daily t-shirt website. I'm so sorry I couldn't control myself. I blame it on Batman.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Magic the Gathering, board games, console gaming, TV, comics. Pretty much the usually nerd fare. I do love to go biking and hiking.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
When I was little I used to make dark effigies of the dark lord Cthulhu swallowing my teacher's souls. But in all seriousness, I didn't start drawing until middle school where I would draw FF 7 and Dragonball Z characters. Come high school I focused on comics. Lots of sketches and doodling in the margins of notebooks.
What is your favorite thing about the blues?
My favorite part about the blues are the brothers, The Blues Brother. Because outside of a cult classic movie, I know nothing about the blues.
Saxophone vs. harmonica: which would win the battle?
Harmonica hands down, especially if they are part of a one man band. Watch out though because the sax player could use the sax as a bludgeoning weapon. He may have lost the battle but he will win the war.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
My favorite shirt is my “BatFett” shirt that my friend got for me from TeeFury. I like it so much because it was what got me hooked on the shirts here. I don't buy any other shirts now. P.S. Keep giving me awesome grab bag luck :)
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
Well the only reading I do is through audio books so that ones out due to technicality, LOL. I'm a gamer at heart. I played WoW through college. I own nearly every console since the first NES. Unfortunately I have a short attention span, which causes me to switch between games and get bored easily.
What inspires your work?
My all time favorite artist is Michael Turner. I watched his career for years and I sorely miss his style within the industry. His career inspires me to keep working at it.
