A Nice Cup of Tea
About the artistArt curated by
Tell us a bit about this design.
If you haven't figured it out, it's a mash up. Why together? Both movies take place in a fantasy world that may or may not all be just in the main character's head. Also, I think the worm and the Mad Hatter have a lot of similarities. They are both masters of distraction and do a great job of keeping their movie's main character from their goal. They both offer tea. They both have crazy hair.
Where are you from?
I'm from Moorhead, MN. No one knows where that is. So, I usually say I am from Fargo, ND which is right across the river. Yeah, Fargo, like the movie.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I'm a freelance Graphic designer who is new to shirt design. I'm a nerd and I would rather stay home and play board games than go out to the bar.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
That's a secret and I'm keeping it safe.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Board games, baking, music, faeries, Scotland, Labyrinth, and Doctor Who.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
I drew a lot of faeries. Not a lot has changed.
What is your favorite thing about fantasy?
It keeps the kid in me alive because it's all about creativity and imagination.
Coffee vs. tea: which would win the battle?
I would put my money on coffee. Tea seems like kind of a wuss.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
It's a shirt by Zerobriant called Are you my Mummy? It's a Star Wars and Doctor Who mash up. So, you can't really go wrong with that. However, it's my favorite because it's the one and only shirt that has ever made me laugh so hard that I cried.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I love reading, but as a work-from-home mom, I don't get much time to sit down and read. So, I'll have to say watching movies. Labyrinth will forever be my favorite movie. Others have come close, but that one holds a special place in my heart.
What inspires your work?
It's usually something entertainment related like a movie or TV show. Sometimes, it's a book. Or, sometimes, it's something as simple as a color combination that sparks an idea. Ideas usually come to me when I'm doing something mundane like taking a shower or laying in bed trying to sleep.
