About the artist
Tell us a bit about this design.
I find it really amusing when the real world intrudes on movie logic. I can handle no feeding after midnight, (although, when does that reset? sunrise?) but no bright light and don't get him wet? That is a seriously tall order for even the most responsible of pet owners.
Where are you from?
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
Contrary to my plot-hole-poking answer above, I am a huge cinephile (Gremlins and it's fantastically weird sequel included).
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
Well, I still don't think anyone has figured out where I buried the bodi.... Ahhhh, you almost got me!
Name a few of your favorite things.
I'm a big animation fan. From the big guys like Pixar to the small indie stuff like Don Hertzfeldt (seriously if you haven't seen Rejected do yourself a favor). Edgar Wright is my personal hero. Douglas Adams wrote the only book series I actually laugh out loud like a crazy person while reading. Primer is one of the most intelligent sci-fi movies ever. Raider of the Lost Ark is one of the most infinitely re-watchable slices of awesome to ever exist on celluloid. Scorsese, Spielberg, Kubrick, the Coens, the Andersons (both Wes and Paul Thomas)...the list goes on.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
I remember lots of attempts to replicate famous cartoon characters (the genie from Aladdin I especially wanted to get just right), but I really got to try all sorts of stuff growing up thanks to my awesome parents.
What is your favorite thing about the 80s?
My favorite thing now is that rare occasion when you stumble upon some show, movie, game, etc. that you completely forgot about, and it reminds just what a fabulously weird decade the 80's were.
Robots vs. aliens: which would win the battle?
I think I'm gonna have to go with robots on this one. They don't have to breath or eat. They'll have seamless battle coordination. Yeah, if robots start a war I think just about any biological race is probably going down.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
I have one that looks like a tourist shop shirt for Amity Island. I like stuff that a little in-jokey, it's like a wearable version of a secret handshake for those who love a certain movie, book, band, etc.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I suppose my answer to the first question is obvious by now. I think my all-time favorite would be a toss up between Raiders and Ghostbusters and I'll just have to wait for that gun-to-the-head moment when I am forced to decide to discover where my true allegiance lies.
What inspires your work?
Good stories. No matter the medium a fantastic story can do wonders for the soul.
Any shout outs?
Thanks to you guys for my first print!
