About the artist
Tell us a bit about this design.
Admittedly, I'm a latecomer to Supernatural. Like… really late. My wife hounded me to watch the show with her, so prior to the Season 7 Premier we hunkered down & watched every single episode on Blu-Ray (including the Anime series).
One of the first thing that popped into my head was that Sam and Dean would have been the ultimate road-dogs: travelling town to town non-stop, and playing ever seedy little bar along the way (among other things).
Where are you from?
The armpit of east-coast Canada: New Brunswick. We're known for our hospitality & love of all things beer. Kind of like dwarves, but you know… taller.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I love movies. And I make a decent Pico de Gallo. Also, I have a penchant for really lame jokes.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
Why I wore a luchador mask for my bachelor party.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Movies: Star Wars, Indy, Star Trek, BTTF, Tron, Godfather, etc.
Music: Rock, Metal, Soundtracks
Illustration: Aaron Horkey, Kevin Tong, Laurent Durieux, Olly Moss, Shepard Fairey, Ken Taylor, etc.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
I really wanted to be a comic book artist, and then I realized that spending time drawing panel after panel was really tedious. When Star Wars and Indiana Jones came out, I became fascinated with movie posters. Artists like Drew Struzan and Bob Peak really captured my attention; they really knew how to capture the essence of the movie. You don't see much of that today.
What is your favorite thing about music?
It's one of the most personal things in the world -- it's something that can affect you on so many levels. Most milestones that I can recall throughout life are associated with a particular song.
Ghost vs. poltergeist: which would win the battle?
Patrick Swayze doesn't have enough dance moves to keep Carol Anne from getting kidnapped. (See? Lame joke)
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
Aw, man. That's a tough one. My all-time favorite t-shirt: El Boba! It features one of my favourite characters of all time wearing a luchador mask.
But I gotta give Bamboota a shoutout for her Thorrio's tee. I love the style, the colouring… it's awesome!
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I really love movies… but I gotta say games. Arkham Asylum/City is so amazing to me that I don't think it could work in any other medium. You're not a passive participant, you're immersed in a story rich with character and history. It's more than just a puzzle to be solved.
What inspires your work?
My dad was a painter; he really influenced me in my direction towards the creative fields. My kids as well… they have such big imaginations. There are so many amazing artists that I hang out with, and see on the web, that create such awesome stuff that it's hard not to get inspired.
Any shout outs?
My wife, kids, mom & dad, and little bro' (of course);
