No Place Like It!
About the artistArt curated by
Tell us a bit about this design.
I was watching the show on TV and I imagined how cool it would be to have Rick entering one of those souvenir/gift shops in the city. Just imagine Rick's expression after seeing one of those cheap and creepy postcards enticing you to visit Atlanta as there is of course "no place like it"… c'mon you know it would have been a great scene to watch.
Where are you from?
I'm half Italian half German and I live in Spain right know, I was born in neither one of these places though.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I want them to know that I have a lot of ideas crossing my mind at the speed of light, all of them at the same time/space and once in a while I get to coherently catch one and make a shirt design out of it. I also want them to know some of my designs are available as prints, cases and skins on: http://society6.com/victorsbeard
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
That I like watching Grey's Anatomy with my wife, but after so many seasons I can't remember a single character name in the series.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Homemade hamburgers, playing LEGO with my son, playing LEGO on my own, Adventure Time, cats (the animal not the musical), to be kind to kind people, Nutella, Scarlet Johansson. Ultimately all things made with passion and heart, oh and cheese, mainly cheese.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
My father used to paint as a hobby, mostly oil paintings and I must say he was very good at it. I remember copying my father's paintings with crayons or pastels, I never was as talented as my dad on a canvas though so I ended designing stuff on a computer.
What is your favorite thing about zombies?
They love you for what you really are, no distinctions at all, you know, even if you are mean and don't feed them for days they will look for you and follow you everywhere you go.
Platypus vs. narwhal: which would win the battle?
With all due respect I must say this is a silly question considering both are fantasy creatures that don't exist in real life like ermm unicorns, oh and that dinosaur in Scotland.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
Ok there is this old, dark and awfully printed Hong Kong Phooey t-shirt that is the most comfortable thing ever to grace my body. My wife hates it so much so for the sake of marriage I promised her to use it only at home.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I'm a gaming addict since I was 9yo, I love and enjoy movies too, among many things I would say I enjoy anything that has Shigeru Miyamoto and Kevin Spacey involved on it, not together of course. I do read occasionally though, about videogames and movies.
What inspires your work?
All my work is created with lot of heart, inspired by things I like, childhood memories, phobias, things that make me happy or angry, or simply whatever the fudge crosses my mind on a momentary lapse of reason.
Any shout outs?
To my lovely wife and fantastic son who let me sleep until 10am when I go to bed at 4am designing stuff on my computer (btw that's only 6 hours of sleep honey), and of course to the TeeFury team for giving me 24 hours of fame and glory.
