About the artist
Tell us a bit about this design.
I figured Shawn Spencer could wear this shirt while psychic detecting. Or while eating Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Virginia, lived for a while in Rhode Island, Michigan, and California, and now I’ve settled in DC.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
That I love this site, and I’m so happy to have a print here today.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
I have a PhD in Psychology, and, yes, I do know what you’re thinking right now.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Time travel. Mac & Cheese. Surprises.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
As a kid I used to do these collages with torn paper and watercolors. I was really into the uncontrollable nature- the unexpected way the paper might tear or a drop of water might spread- and then working with that. It’s been interesting for me getting into digital art, which is so controlled, and trying to find a little entropy.
What is your favorite thing about psychics?
They already know why I love them. And that’s why I love them.
Starbuck vs. Katniss: which would win the battle?
Starbuck. Katniss can certainly rock the arena, but Starbuck can take down a Cylon Raider and then pilot it with her bare hands.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
I have an official jersey from the Canadian women’s rugby team. My sister-in-law traded for it after a tournament, and then gave it to me, so that’s my favorite.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
Tough choice. Since I’m a big fan of Ender’s Game, I’ll give the win to reading, but when the movie comes out in 2013, it could be a real toss up.
What inspires your work?
I’m inspired by other artists. In high school, I went through a Aubrey Beardsley phase. I carried around a notebook and was all about these black and white line drawings. Right now the coolest artist I know is my niece Parker, and she is a constant inspiration.
Any shout outs?
First, to Dre, who first encouraged me to do this. And to everyone who’s given me feedback and advice on the forums- you rock!
