About the artist
I love vintage and retro art, especially pinup art from the war era. A sub genre of this was introduced to me by my friend Alex Fritz -- "noseart" is the actual name for the pinup art that was used on the hulls of airplanes and fighter jets. The idea came to me one day when I thought, surely it'd be hilarious if the SW universe had similar motifs -- why not try some? This, obviously, is the Empire's.
Where are you from?
Little Rock, Arkansas
What has been your most adventurous moment?
Yikes, that's a tough one. I survived Botcon this year, so...
What has been the most valuable advice you've been given?
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."
If you had a theme song, what would it be?
"The Touch" by Stan Bush
What was your favorite thing about pin-up art?
I'm sure a lot of people would disagree, but I think the pin-up art from the war era has a certain class to it. The models are being very feminine and playful without, in my opinion, being depicted in an overtly sexist or objectified way. Knowing that it served as a morale-booster during wartime is a contextual factor that adds substance to the art itself.
Dinosaurs vs. vampires: which would win the battle?
Dinosaurs: as of this date, they have yet to sparkle.
Describe the strangest shirt you own.
It's a picture of a woolly mammoth passing gas on a caveman with the text, "Blast from the Past." Extremely poignant, yet odd...
What would be your dream project to work on?
I'd love to do anything with the Transformers franchise! Disney would be great, too, but that's extremely ambitious.
