Shred or Die

About this design:
I have a theory that they were really just skate park rivals - the Turtles were loose and artistic while the Shredder was all about precision and technical perfection. Once a big Hollywood producer got ahold of the story, it quickly morphed into this weird thing with talking rats, vengeance stories and armies of ninjas. Everyone involved got huge checks for the rights to their story, but were forbidden from ever telling the truth, lest it topple the empire of cartoons and action figures that had sprung up. It was supposed to be about the skating, man!
For my interview, I'm answering questions posted by fans on my Facebook page!
Rikki Saturday If you had one day left on earth, would you rather spend it with Dolly Parton or Burt Reynolds?
Could I cheat and take Burt Reynolds to Dollywood? It's only about 2 hours from where I live. We could drive there in a t-top Firebird, then ride roller coasters and ziplines all day!
Caitlin Lloyd Did you ever have a favorite t-shirt growing up that you did not want to ever throw away?
I distinctly remember a couple of shirts from my childhood that I never wanted to outgrow - one was a Superman shirt printed on a blue and red ringer tee, and the other was a shirt that my parents had printed up with all of my nicknames on it. My mom had actually kept that over the years, and gave it to me this year at Christmas.
Randy Smith Okay here's something I've been wondering! Is your last name pronounced Leno? Leeno? Lion-o?
It's Finnish, and is pronounced LEEN-O. Thought at your suggestion, I may have to change it to Lion-o. Sure it would disgrace my family and history, but that's a small price to pay for awesome.
Jeffro Kilpatrick Art Do all of your designs start in a sketchbook or do you work exclusively in digital?
Sometimes it feels like I have a different process for every design that I create - using various traditional media, Photoshop, Illustrator and other programs - but at least 90% of them still start out with me using a good old fashioned pencil and paper. And just to sound ever more traditional, let's say that I sharpen the pencil with a big Bowie knife. Yeaaahhh.
Jennie Stone Edenfield In 1000 years when your noggin is on display at the Head Museum, which celebrities would you want to have next to you?
If I (and everyone around me) are reduced to floating heads but still alive (like Futurama), I'd want to be surrounded by fun people who lived interesting lives and have great stories to tell, inventive writers to keep me entertained by creating new worlds, and ugly people so I look better in comparison. To that end, if it's only celebrities then I'm going to say Bill Murray, Terry Pratchett, Andre the Giant, Stephen Fry and Mick Jagger.
Bill Dundulis Who would Win in a Spy Duel - Sterling Archer or James Bond (played by sean connery) ?
I imagine this as a multi-sport event. So, Sean Connery would win the Gambling, Driving and Marksmanship challenges, Archer would win the Espionage, Witty-Banter and Cocktail challenges, and in a surprise upset, they'd tie in the Seduction event and end up together.
Any shout outs?
I'd like to take this space to thank Tony Avina and Dakin Costello whose help was invaluable as I was working on this design. They coached me through awesome, authentic skateboarding poses as well as vintage graffiti styles, and their help and suggestions really turned this design from something mediocre into something I'm really proud of. Thanks guys!
I'd also like to thank my fans on Facebook and elsewhere without whose support I wouldn't be able to keep making these sorts of designs!
