About the artist
Its kind of a follow up to my last TeeFury Design called "Who's the Tough Guy, Meow?". A lot of people with cat allergies wrote me asking for a puppy version, and as a dog owner I kinda wanted to make one anyway.
Where are you from?
Chicago! Well I'm originally from Woodstock, IL... but I can safely say that Chicago is my forever home.
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I was living in Seattle, and I had just lost my job painting the outside of houses. Luckily I answered the right ad, and got hired to design kid's t-shirts and have been designing apparel ever since.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Try to get an apprenticeship. I learned more during my first month at that t-shirt company than I did throughout 4 years of art school. Art School is kinda important, but as a designer, its way more important to have a great portfolio than a bachelor degree. Actually I've never once been asked to show my degree.
What would be your dream job?
I don't know about a dream job... but I've always wanted to have enough money to turn any of my awesome ideas into a reality. So I guess my dream job is to be Google?
What is your favorite thing about dogs?
I love wrestling with my dog. She never wins.
What would your ideal house be like?
It wouldn't be a very big house. Just enough for me, my wife, and my dog. We'd have a stocked bar, a pool table and a dart board. What can I say, I'm a simple man with simple needs. Also I have the set of the original American Gladiators in my airplane hanger.
Hotdogs vs. hamburgers: which would win the battle?
You're killing me here. As long as we're talking all beef hot dogs, its a toss up.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
I was a comics kid for sure. I'd always obsess over really obscure superheros too. Like Nova. What a terrible superhero.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
I visit the Huffington Post & NPR a lot, but don't take that as an endorsement. I just love news.
Any shout outs?
Big shout out to all my "Dawgs" out there. See what I did there?
