I’ve always maintained that, in spite of their disdain for one another, “Nerds” and “Jocks” were the same in that they’re obsessive about their passion.  I wanted to create a sport-like logo for one of my favorite nerd-based things and the result is ‘Gallifrey Timelords.’

 

I’m currently in Denver, Colorado, but I’ve traveled a bit with my companion.

 

More a media than a style, I’d love to get better at sculpting and paper craft.  I hear good things about knitting, too.

Personal growth in my life and art.

 

The ‘Keep Calm and Something Something’ one (of which I’m guilty).  I think Olly Moss started the ball rolling on that and it’s just too easy to think of ways to tie it into pop culture phenomena.  I’d love for a Shirt Tales trend to start, where t-shirts to start expressing our actual thoughts in real time.

 

I’ll take a sonic screwdriver with which to mix my screwdriver cocktail. Cocktails are cool.

 

The battle would never happen since they’re never awake at the same time.

 

It was based on a children’s story I was developing about a Native American girl whose tribe is being usurped by her evil uncle after her father, the chief, is killed and her brother is put in a coma.  She decides to enter the spirit world and bring her brother back.  Her spirit animal pulls her into the spirit world and is punished for it by being turned inside-out.  Their adventures trying to bring her brother back led the story through Native American mythology.  I recently updated the design and that can be seen in the side-art.

 

I was part of a live art show at Wizard World Dallas years ago, which forced me to draw in a fluid stream-of-consciousness style.  I was able to collaborate with some fantastic comic artists on the fly, and all proceeds from auctioning off the works went to a charitable cause.  It really pushed me to work outside of my comfort zone and fostered a true collaborative spirit that helped some deserving folks at the same time.
