About the artist
SevenHundred
Tell us about this design.
It's a geek twist on the classic Democrats and Republican logos... I felt these groups of fans were constantly competing over who's franchise is better, so I figured they'd need a political style symbol to stand alongside.
Plus with the US on the run up to full election mode, I really hope that people will buy and wear this tee when they go to vote - and get photographed for local newspapers... Or international newspapers... Or the Wall Street Journal... Or Time Magazine. You know, something small like that : )
In-fact i'd love it if people bought the tee and customised it a little - maybe actually 'Vote' on their choice with a fabric pen, or embroidered an X or whatever... I'd love to see the results either via twitter @Seven_Hundred or on my Facebook page: Seven Hundred Shirts
Where are you from?
Glasgow, Scotland
Which art style would you most like to learn?
It's not an art style - but I could defiantly do with improving my time management skills... so, many, ideas...
If you had a time machine, which era would you visit first?
Ah... a time machine... that would be handy : ) Not sure when I'd like to visit first... a Dino Safari would be a good way to start...
What goal do you most aspire towards?
You know, small really - I can't wait till i'm walking down the street one day and spot someone wearing one of my tees... Or maybe spot one on TV...
If you could stop any t-shirt trend in its tracks, which would you end? What trend would you like to see started?
It's quite like to stop these huge unimaginative global companies from brainwashing the masses with their boring, over priced, over logo'd stock... Don't pay them, to then let them use your torso as a billboard for their brand... rant over...
Would you rather run for office or run a marathon?
Hmm... neither, could I maybe just run a bath? Does that phrase even translate?
Thundercats vs. laser cats: which would win the battle?
Laser cats? Cats with frikken laser beams attached to their heads? Surely they'd win...
Describe the first shirt you ever designed.
I can't remember the very first shirt I ever designed... the first tee design that ever I sold was a Threadless submission that was picked up by another company. It was called Ice Cream Vans, and had simple little cute shaped ice-cream cones and lollies with wheels and windows and stuff... It's cute, but not something I'd wear.
What has been your most inspiring art experience?
Any day on the internet... so, many, ideas...
Any shout outs?
The awesome Shirtoid.com, RampagedReality, Superpunch, Bite.ca and ToplessRobot are all excellent websites that have given me hand getting my designs seen by the world recently. Also equally as awesome are all the tee designers and fans I've met on Twitter and Facebook recently - way too many to mention here - but if you follow me on twitter, i'm frequently sharing and showing their great designs...
