The 80s and the 90s  - two of the most awesome filled pop culture eras in history combine in Skellingtor, or something. One of those flash moments, followed by a feverish session in Illustrator and Facebook posting with my RBA art teachers. :D

 

Fife, Scotland, but lately, I feel I'm probably more at home in Whiterun and Riverwood, although I'm planning a trip to Markarth, soon.

 

How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I've been a long time t-shirt fan and have a ridonkulous amount of the damned things - my wife despairs. I eventually decided I wanted to make my own. I stumbled across RedBubble and started uploading lots of pop culture reference tees. I fell in with a group of designers called The Rebel Alliance (RBA). Occasionally, I do a good mash-up. Sometimes they get printed outside of RedBubble. :)

 

What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
I don't think I'm qualified to offer advice, that would assume some authority in the matter - LOL! Hints and tips, what's worked and is working for me: Keep at it. Learn from other designers. Follow lots of talented people on social networking sites (namecheck later). If you have to ask if it's working it probably isn't, but if you're near the target, you'll know, and a little advice can help you nail it. LISTEN TO THAT ADVICE. Skellingtor was good, but made moar awesome by talking to my good and learned designer/photographer friends Matt Parsons and Chris McVeigh (look them up!) I have them to thank for the all the help that led to the final result. Also, Credit where it's due. ;)

 

What would be your dream job?
I'm doing it. I may not be the best at it, but I'm learning, and almost making a living!

 

What is your favorite thing about the skeletons?
They always have a smile for you.

 

What would your ideal house be like?
A Permaculture compatible dwelling. Open, airy, environmentally neutral, capable of generating its own power requirements, built out of straw bale, and on my own land, far away from traffic. Yeah, I'm one of THOSE people.

 

Utopia vs. dystopia: which would win the battle?
Dystopia. Utopia is utterly surrounded, outnumbered and outgunned, it should just surrender and move to a quiet village in the country.

 

What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
I was a sci-fi and fantasy geek pop culture sponge. I can't really pick one thing. I communicate with other geeks solely in references to our myths and legends like Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.
