Message from Megan Lara: Hi guys! I hope you like my "Dope Adventures" shirt that's on sale today. I asked the folks on my facebook page to ask me some questions, so here they are with my answers. : )
What is your favourite show or movie that people wouldn't expect you to like?
I have a serious affinity for musicals.. especially Repo! The Genetic Opera. I don't know what it is.. maybe it's getting to see Paris Hilton have her face ripped off. Who knows? For some reason, I just absolutely love it.
What do you find distracts you from getting your art done?
Responding to folks on Facebook! Haha. That, and chatting with my fellow t-shirt designers. We are a *really* talkative bunch.
What music do you do your art magic to?
Mostly Cake, Daft Punk and Flogging Molly. Flogging Molly is my ultra favourite band ever; I've seen them in concert three or four times.
Zombie Apocalypse weapon of choice: bat, machete or shotgun?
A machete for sure. Though I actually already have all of those. I live in Missouri.. we like our sports and our weapons. ; )
Omnipotent powers grant you the ability to bring back a single TV show. Which do you pick?
I feel like Firefly is the obvious answer, here! After that, Arrested Development--though I hear they are going to be releasing something new here soon. Exciting!
Since you put such fine amounts of detail into your designs, do you ever find yourself becoming bored with a design and coming back to it much later, or even abandoning it completely?
ALL THE TIME. I have a whole folder of works-in-progress that I've just abandoned. If I don't "feel it" within the first three hours, it's hard to come back to it. I think the best thing to do, though, is to push through and finish it. I have a hard time following my advice in that area.
Cats. How many are no longer acceptable?
More than three. One cat is cool, but sometimes they need a buddy, so two is acceptable. Once you have two, you're already kind of hooked, so you might as well get one more. Any more than that.. you are straddling crazy cat-person territory. Though, I grew up on a farm with at least ten cats (and numerous other feral ones) at all times.. I don't know what that says about me.
After this many prints on Teefury, what design do you feel has been overlooked and needs to be featured next?
I think they have been a good judge on which of my designs the Teefury audience would gravitate toward. Honestly, my favourite design is my Troll 2 "Country Hospitality" design, but I don't think there's a big enough audience for that one!
Tell us three out of the ordinary things about you, only one of which is true!
I'll one-up that and just tell you three weird things about me, because I couldn't pick just one. I have mild tourette's, almost no sense of smell, and can mimic a goat bleat pretty fantastically.
Who's your favourite pony?
Rainbow Dash all the way.
What celebrity, non-politician would you vote for if they ran in the 2012 election?
DEFINITELY George Takei. I love that man.
If you were a robot - would you be a Terminator killer robot, a drinking, thieving, swearing Bender unit, a super intelligent Data android, or a sturdy little R2 unit?
I would definitely be Bender unit. I love to curse and I'm actually pretty vulgar.
