I really enjoy bizarre mash-ups…When unlikely worlds collide (to the advantage of the villain in this case). Because Harold's purple crayon seems to magically "bring to life" whatever he desires to draw, I thought it would be fitting if Skeletor made use of it, being a sorcerer. For him, it would sidestep all those failed plans to take Grayskull.

A small town on the central coast of Maine.

My favorite medium is painting and I enjoy reinterpreting lots of classical pieces with pop culture figures inserted. This trend began with "rabbit heads," inspired by my love of Alice and Wonderland. The White Rabbit is Alice's guide through Wonderland, and propels her forward by appearing and disappearing at various points, which to me represents synchronicity.

I've seen most of the Jersey Shore and all of The Hills. 

Paint, iMac, art history, books, music, movies, the '80s (ALL of it), cats, fingerless gloves, surrealism, English murder mysteries, wave-particle duality, hilarity with friends, and the occasional tasty drink.

The Ninja Turtles really supplemented my drawing skills, as well as dragons and, of course, unicorns. I drew a lot of horror and fantasy themed things, monsters, fish, cats, wolves, horses, etc. There was also a phase at about ages 6-9 where I enjoyed making 3-4 page books (stapled notebook paper), complete with illustrations—most of these stories hardly made sense and ended abruptly. Amazingly, I didn't go into the publishing biz.

Chasing them. 

Ooooh, that's tough! Both have the undertone of darkness in their work. A battle between them might melt the face off of civilization…So, we would lose. Thank goodness they will never come to blows...

It's just this simple, semi-sheer, blue, 3-quarter sleeve, long shirt I got at Express recently. It's so comfortable (and really brings out my eyes). I like shirts that require a lot of adjectives to describe them. (But I feel the need to mention my favorite T-shirt design…Mister Mittens' Big Adventure!)

A good book beats them all. Alice in Wonderland, naturally. Where would I be without it?

Early exposure to all the various artistic movements, being a sponge for pop culture, fear, and a crazy imagination. Like most artists, I draw inspiration from things I feel a resonance with (which encompasses a great deal), but also things that terrify me—like ventriloquist dolls. I like the idea that art can be sort of an alchemy, we can take our feelings/experiences (positive or otherwise) and transform them into something creative/beautiful. And I've also derived inspiration from being exposed to other artists and designers online—there are so many creative, talented people out there.
