Tell us about this design.

This is my homage to Wes Anderson's classic film "Rushmore". I attempted a hand-drawn style - obviously inspired by Eric Chase Anderson's great artwork.

Where are you from?

Livermore, California - 40 minutes east of San Francisco.

Which art style would you most like to learn?

I'd love to master several art styles - I'd like to be versatile. But in general, my favorite work is the simplest, most minimal.

If you had a time machine, which era would you visit first?

I'd love to check out the '20s, '30s, and '40s. Drop me off in 1925 and I'll gladly live through the next few decades.

What goal do you most aspire towards?

I want to direct a feature film.

If you could stop any t-shirt trend in its tracks, which would you end? What trend would you like to see started?

Flashy all-over print shirts have got to stop, talk about ugly. I'd love to see simpler, more tasteful prints - I'm guilty of not always achieving that. The shirts Keita Takahashi designed for Katamari Damacy & Noby Noby Boy are a great example.

Would you rather visit Adventure Time's land of Ooo or Alice's Wonderland?

Definitely have to go with Wonderland, any version except the atrocious Tim Burton one. I keep hoping he'll make another good movie.

Pez vs. Pixie Stix: which would win the battle?

Pez. The candy is good, the logo is cool, and you get a toy with it. Pixie sticks are just powder. OH MY GOD SO BORING EUHUUGUH

Describe the first shirt you ever designed.

***ADVERTISEMENT*** I don't remember the very first shirt I designed, but an early one was an I♥NY parody inspired by Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom. I replaced the heart symbol with a bloody ripped-out heart. What has been your most inspiring art experience?

The first time I saw Gary Hustwit's documentary "Helvetica" was very inspiring - it made me realize just how passionate I was about design. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in typography or graphic design.
