Being the father of two young kids, I get my fill of this guy. Something about him draws kids in, some kind of unnatural other worldly power. Over a period of time of watching him and hearing his high-pitched voice over and over again you begin to demonize him, or at least I did. It was only then my brain started linking things; i.e. he’s red.  Hellboy’s red. He’s the spawn of Satan. Hellboy’s the spawn of Satan.  Walla! Hellmo! I wouldn’t recommend tickling Hellmo though…

I think my style is versatile.  Depending on the market, i.e. cute, pop, artsy, etc… I usually can adapt and tweak to get what I want for the design.  Also at times I’d say my style is experimental.  I am always trying news things with my designs, be it a style, textures, subject matter or new POV.  I don’t like doing what everyone else is doing or to be put into a box. I sub a lot in weekly contests and many artists, great artists mind you, put together fantastic designs that go right with the theme and that you might possibly expect. I always seem to go the other route though. Something different that maybe people would enjoy but isn’t what you expected. I don’t intentionally pursue this course.  It’s how I am wired as an artist. 

I have done a couple collabs with artists previously Odysseyroc, Kevlar51 and Parrotworks on shirt.woot designs and it’s been a fun experience and learned a lot from each of them. Its hard to say because many of the ones I would want to work with, in my opinion, probably wouldn’t want to work with me because they are fantastic all by themselves. 6amcrisis is one that comes to mind.

Is it bad to say no one? When looking back on history, some hidden history discovered or biography is rewritten knocks down that person we as a culture have glorified or placed on a pedestal.  History is always in doubt and rediscovered. So there’s no one I would say I admire historically.  Now when it comes to people in my life I admire there’s plenty…

I dont know. Am I a man or am I a muppet? If I’m a muppet then I’m a very manly muppet. Am I a muppet or am I a man? If I’m a man that makes me a muppet of a man.

Although it pains me, I am going to have to side with Elmo.  Consider Elmo’s street cred for a moment. When Elmo needs help or wants something like his blanky everybody, I mean everybody, has his back. They all went to Grouchland and back for that little monster. Grouchland! The cesspool of Sesame Street! Streets littered with trash with all kinds of dirty dealings in the back alley ways and basements. Nothing stops Elmo. Nothing.  You mess with his blanky and he will not stop until he gets it back.  That’s commitment muthaf’ers! Elmo is the pimp of Sesame Street! And if you get on his bad side, look out! He’s got Mr. Noodles in the wings to bust a cap in yo ass!

Hated by most but my favorite shirt color is heather gray. Makes this fat guy feel athletic.

Taking my daughter to Disney World has been my favorite vacation experience thus far.  When you have a daughter who is all about princesses and seeing the look on her face as they are dancing on a stage in front of the Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and then getting to meet them personally one on one, it brought tears to my eyes. Seeing her joy and happiness made me feel like a child as well. You see that silly commercial for Disney where the adults turn into kids there. It’s true. Had a great time and cherish the memories and sharing them with my daughter.
