Tell us a bit about this design.
I love Skyrim, and like most people I got sucked into this massive game from day one. When you play an Elder Scrolls game you pretty much give up your life for it. You eat, sleep and play. I figured slaying dragons sounds a lot more interesting then just playing!
Where are you from?
Originally from Pittsburgh, but right now I'm in Raleigh/Durham and loving it.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I'm a huge fan of retro gaming! Most of my designs revolve around that and my obvious geek obsessions. Web and multimedia design pays the bills, but I get a real kick out of designing shirts and other products! I love knowing that people are wearing my designs and really enjoying them. It's one of the best feelings as an artist.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
I still enjoy watching 90's cartoons… Especially Gargoyles and Ducktales. What can I say? I loved watching my cartoons as a kid.
Name a few of your favorite things.
My family (of course!) My iMac's, Design, Chrono Trigger, cooking, skiing, reading a good book, long walks on the beach… you get the idea.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
Mostly Dragonball and video game art. I created my own comic called John & Jim when I was 8. I remember doing a lot of world maps for games ideas I came up with. Most of them were for Zelda, Metroid and Mario Kart.
What is your favorite thing about fantasy?
Besides the obvious choices of swords, shields and great battles? I just like the simpler times with rustic towns and open wilderness. Sitting down and reading Lord of the Rings over and over is one of my greatest joys. Oh, and who can forget the Dragons??
Dragons vs. dinosaurs: which would win the battle?
Speaking of Dragons… I mean if Pterodactyls could breath fire then they might stand a chance, but I'm pretty sure a Dragon would decimate most dinosaurs. Sorry T-rex, but you're BBQ!
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
I have one Steelers shirt that I've had for over a decade. I love shirts that have that worn feel and are really comfortable.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I would have to say gaming. If you're playing a good game it's just so much more interactive than any book or movie. I would really be torn between Chrono Trigger (mentioned above), Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy VII. They are always tied for my all time favorites. I really enjoy RPG's for their great stories.
What inspires your work?
It always depends on the project I'm working on, but I'm a big advocate of just searching the web and seeing what is popular and what people are buying/interested in. Sites like Deviant Art can be a real motivation tool if you're looking for great art!
Any shout outs?
My two best friends Andy and Geoff (who I used to play N64 with throughout middle school/high school) and my wife Courtney and daughter Joslyn. And of course TeeFury for giving me the chance to showcase this design!
