I like it, but not as much as I liked the Firefly one... I think the Firefly characters lent themselves to being Peanuts characters a little easier than the different versions of the Doctor do... Still a nice design, just not for me.

I'll admit, the first time I saw this Who/Peanuts mash-up, I decried its existence. I thought it was just a bunch of Peanuts-like kids playing around a police box that was vaguely the Tardis. However, the second I realized every character was a representation of a previous incarnation of the Doctor, I immediately bought tee. It went from smurf (albeit, with great art), to the best t-shirt design I've seen in years. I absolutely love this. Sorry it took a few seconds for the realization to sink in.

Exactly why this shirt rocks! Shroeder as the 2nd Doc, Lucy as the 1st Doc, and just keeps going! A great shirt - that makes me smile. Great stuff.

Both Peter Cushing and William Hartnell's dr's grand daughter was from Gallifrey and she stayed on earth as a teenager in the 21st century according to the story line originally. This grand daugher ("Child of Time", "Cave of Skulls" episodes) may still be around. Lalla Ward played a female time lord called Romana Veratnamunda (spp last name?): see episode "Warriors Gate". Even if she went into "N Space" then she may still be around. David Tennant's doctor had a clone daughter time lord who took off in a space ship for parts unknown. River Song, although she gave Matt's doctor (# 11) her regenerations is referenced as "a child of the tardis, a child of time" and fans may find matches to the time lords. Rose Tyler (companion to dr's # 9, 10) carried the entire time stream to destroy the daleks, so it may be said she was a time lord, if only for one episode. She had the ability to create a god like character out of Captain Jack (aka "The Face of Bo"). Donna, Tennant's dr (#10) companion (played as Dr. Donna) was a time lord for a short time and then leaked the time stream out as a protection in episodes 1 & 2: "The End of Time". These courageous women need applause and representation for their extraordinary performances too!

SHE-FURY: All this week, February 5th - 11th, we're featuring designs created by artists of the female persuasion. Women represent only a small fraction of our overall artist roster. We hope focusing attention on them will inspire other aspiring designers, male and female, to start creating and find success working as an independent artist.

Tell us about this design.

I have been a Who fan since 2007 and it’s a pleasure for me to draw Who-themed shirts. A while ago I did a Firefly/Peanuts crossover and it went pretty well. I felt the same concept would work on a Who shirt.

Where are you from?

I am from Graz in Austria, a really neat city which I recommend everyone to visit. It’s much cooler than Salzburg and Vienna, I swear! And it has a giant hill in the middle, which the devil has supposedly dropped there. And no, the tourism office doesn’t pay me to say that! I really love my city. Currently I am living in my second favorite city, New York.

How would you describe your style?

Until recently, I wasn’t even sure what my style was. By now, I think I can say that my style usually has a strong narrative and combines cute creatures/monsters/characters in an extraordinary situation – my favorite thing to do is to present monsters in every-day situation, humor that also works well on shirts. Visually, I am strongly inspired by classic animation, comics and nerdy pop culture.

If you could collaborate with anyone else, who would you pick?
One of my favorite collaboration partners is an artist friend of mine, Rebekie Bennington (http://jackalope-art.com/jackalope/) – we complement each other perfectly when designing; her strengths are my weaknesses and vice versa. If I could choose another perfect collab partner, it would be Scott Campbell, an amazing illustrator whose work makes me happy and giggle.

What historical figure do you most admire?

I guess it has to be HP Lovecraft, the horror writer – does he count as a historical figure? He wrote my favorite kind of horror; the one with the unspeakable, weird, fishy, multi-dimensional monsters and fantastic alien worlds with wrong angles and indescribable architecture. I just admire how he changed the world of horror literature and many other forms of art as a whole. He might have had very questionable attitudes towards certain topics, but he was a brilliant writer.

If you weren't designing shirts, what would you be doing?

If I wasn’t a designer (which is kind of my dream job) I would have maybe tried to become an actress, and I have acted in amateur plays, but I was always too insecure to become a professional. I was in a great play here in NY written by friends who really brought back my love for silly acting. I played 7 different extras in that show, 5 of whom died. Besides the actress thing, I would have probably tried to follow a romantic profession such as defender of the innocent, ninja or pirate lady. Time traveler would also be nice. Something where you get out into the sun more often.

Would you rather climb to the top of a mountain or use a submarine to see the bottom of the ocean?

While I would appreciate to see some of the super alien deep sea fish in real life, I definitely prefer the mountain because I sit inside all the time and really could use the sun (and if the mountain has a reasonable height, I might even make it without a heart attack).

Princess Bubblegum vs. Marceline the Vampire Queen: which would win the battle?

I have seen Princess Bubblegum kick some serious ass, but Marceline is just…well, it’s Marceline. She has kick-ass written all over her. Bubblegum, on the other hand, has a castle of followers on her side while Marceline is a bit of a loner. Though, to be quite honest, Bubblegum’s followers are mostly cute pansies. However, if Bubblegum just eats Marceline’s fries, she might weaken the vampire queen enough to win the battle. I don’t know. Let’s ask them to make an episode about it.

What is your favorite t-shirt color?

It has to be black because it’s the most flattering color to wear and it’s the most fun color to work with for shirts.

What has been your favorite vacation or travel experience?

I have seen so many places. I recently tried to count all major cities I have been in and I have come up to about 30 different ones. The top experience was New-Delhi in 2003, even though it was pure madness, exhausting, challenging and I had a viral stomach infection the whole time – but it just beat all the other experiences by being so different, so alien and it also helped me grow a little bit when I was 19 years old. The second most impressive experience was being in New York city for two weeks when I was 22 – back then, I was looking for an internship and I got one with Bill Plympton. It probably changed my career to the better. This year, I actually did my first REAL vacation ever – meaning, the relaxing sort, were one gets pampered all the time. It was a cruise to New England. Yes. I was the only person under 30 on the whole ship, haha.
