Tell us a bit about this design.
I don't do a lot of pop culture designs (not because I'm above them, they're hard to do!) so I guess I was trying to stretch a bit as a designer with this one. It also references one of my all-time favourite films. I actually had the honour of co-writing a screenplay with Dan O'Bannon - although it never got produced - and I hope he'd get a kick out of this tribute to his great imagination. As for muppets, well, who doesn't like muppets?
Where are you from?
Born in Hawaii, somehow ended up in the great city of Toronto.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
That I'm desperately poor so they can consider their purchase a charitable donation and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
That they will not receive a tax deduction for this donation.
Name a few of your favorite things.
T-shirts, art, movies, cooking, my vintage Bianchi.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
99% drawings of dinosaurs, 1% time travellers being eaten by dinosaurs.
What is your favorite thing about aliens?
That to them we're the aliens.
Astronomy vs. zoology: which would win the battle?
That's a no-brainer, astronomy has already kicked zoology's ass on so many occasions (meteorite extinctions anyone?)
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
My favorite shirt is probably my Band of Outsiders button down. I like it because of its impeccable construction and attention to detail. My favorite t-shirt at the moment is probably "Captured Nostalgia" by Chalermphol Harnchakkham just because it looks cool and has a polaroid camera on it.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I can't really choose. I love them all for different reasons, although I don't really play videogames much anymore. I did love the Zelda games and the Resident Evil games.
What inspires your work?
Looking at other artist's work, random sketching.
Any shout outs?
I'd like to say hi to my friend Dominika who was the first person I told this t-shirt idea to and she seemed to think it was funny enough to pursue. Also, my two awesome nephews Ronin and Napoleon just because they have really cool names and have both managed to live up to them. Finally, a shout out to my friend Robin who has always supported my artwork and was the reason I started designing t-shirts in the first place.
