Aaaand another absolutely amazing tee ruined by being on the weird girl color. I wanted this one so badly too! Turquoise?! Why can't we ladies also get the slate? Come on Teefury, I am begging you, stop printing the girl shirts on weird colors. I want to give you my money!
Teefury you are making me so broke! But I love it! Buying it, but wish the girl shirt was on slate, it confuses me when the boy and girl shirts don't match. : /

SECONDED! The guy color is so much nicer! I hate how often this happens. Not all girls want bright colors.TEEFURY, ARE YOU LISTENING?

I'm still not overly fond of the habit in the tee business to give the girls' shirts more "girly" base colors than the boys' shirts, but then, I tend to like my neutrals for tees, and I can see how some people might not.
This might be one of those cases of "if the girls' cut came in the boys' color I'd be all over that," but I'm not ready to make that judgement yet... I think I'll wait and see what I think in the morning, for this one.
I guess I just really don't understand why people on this site like dull colors better... Am I just younger than everyone? I wouldn't think being 21 would put me at too much of an age gap....
hahaha - I TOTALLY rest my case from my comments about too much Dr. Who on teefury from yesterday!!! (That's the third in ten days!!! - can't argue with those figures!) But I like how Xmas is becoming a theme - more cool xmas tees please teefury!!!
Omg i want this sooo bad... but have no pennies :(
For once THE GIRLS SHIRT COLOUR IS BETTER THAN THE BOYS :) :)
Still wish teefury would give a choice of colours though, its rare that they do the girls shirt in a decent colour when they do 2 separate...
Though I do think the fact this is turquoise just gives more excuse for me to use the credit card :)
Friend showed me this site a few weeks ago. Been waiting for a shirt that was more than just "neat".
Bingo. Bought 3. First teefury shirt. Going to wear it from now till new years.

Ugh, agreed. This same thing happened with the last Who shirt I bought on this site. The men's shirts were printed on a nice slate and the women's were on this same bright turquoise that really didn't do the design any favors. I ended up buying the men's color but the fit and fabric just isn't as comfy/ flattering. I'm really not incredibly picky about colors but it's just a little disappointing that the design looks so great against the guy's color but I can't have it unless I want an ill fitting shirt. Sigh.
Love the design though and I still might buy it. Just not crazy about this practice of gendering colors.

seansmom said: how about the ladies just buy the mens shirt in a size that would fit if the color is a prob
I mean, that's what I'll probably end up doing, but the cut and fabric quality (guy's fabric feels a bit stiffer and the girls shirts are softer with a bit of stretch) are very different and much less flattering on most women. So it's a bit of a disappointing trade-off.

I just replied to someone else's post along these lines, but the last time there was a choice between these same colors, I bought the men's shirt 2 sizes smaller, and the fit and fabric is very different. Plus I'm an XL and I went with a men's medium so girls who are already buying a women's small or medium would just be stuck with an oversized work out or sleeping shirt if they bought the guy's shirt in its smallest size.

Bought! But PLEASE, for the love of Pete, stop printing the girlie shirt on worse colors than the men's shirts! It's SO disappointing to see a genius design on a nice slate shirt, and have to settle for garish baby-blue. :( Print them on the same color!
Too many Doctor Who shirts come up on this site, they should really get other t.v shows or video game references up on here......till then I'll take 2! XD

don't you think they would do just that if it were possible? I'm pretty sure it's a supply thing, the shirt amnufacturer obviously doesn't offer the colour for m and w
anyway: I'm not a Doctor Who fan, but the design is super-sweet. it's clever, and the colours work really really well. good job, I smell pancakes
HaHa. I think TeeFury is just playing with the Anti-Doctor people out there. I love "Doctor Who" a lot. I bought the Angel/Delorean shirt and Portal Who (The last 2 Doctor shirts) but even I think this is a bit too soon for another one.
This happened back in March (Gallifrey Road and Scooby-Who) 2 shirts in 3 days just feeds the "haters."
But again here are my usual posts:
"You do not have to buy the shirt."
"If other people didn't buy the shirts, TeeFury wouldn't sell them."
"While Doctor Who is far and away the most frequent reference on this any many other sites, they really don't pop up as often as some people say" (2 in 3 days does make it hard to have this be clear)
"Is isn't 'Dr. Who', It's 'Doctor Who.' He does not claim to be 'a Doctor,' he says he is 'The Doctor'"
Has any girl bought a boys before? How's the fit? I usually buy woman's small, would a mans small still be flattering as in close fitting? Not find of baggy. (sorry for the double post- accidentally sent before finishing...)
This is seriously the first shirt I'm actually considering buying! And I've lurked on the site for months. I'd have to get the boy version though because the blue on the girls version is urgleee!
Amazing design!

Couldn't agree more. :( I'll probably buy it anyway, but how come the women's tees so often have to be a brighter colour? I'm not comfortable in bright colours, I prefer the more toned down ones.
Teefury, try and get the same colour shirts for both men and women. Please!

The men's small shirt is way too big on me. Even if the basic sizing would fit the cut is still different, leaving gaps at the neck, baggy sides, and an overall boxy feel that's a bit uncomfortable.

Personally I love Doctor Who, but there's a load of other stuff I like too! He-man, Planet of the Apes, Monsters, Jem, Buffy.... there's a whole world of awesome pop culture out there waiting to be made into a teefury shirt, the Doctor Who themed shirt is just getting a bit tired. No matter how brilliant the design ( this one is amazing and I remember wanting it when the artists first Doctor Who shirt came out ) the theme itself is redundant.
OK i want to get this shirt for my wife, but have no idea what size to get her. She usually wears a Medium in shirts, but I have heard the shirts run big or small sometimes. Would any female be able to help please? I would go and ask her, but this would be a gift.

Buy Her a medium, they are stretchy and form fitting, but let her think of you as at least thinking of her as a medium. Then let her be the one to slim into it if needed ;)

Yea she is losing weight right now, so medium would be nice. I just hate to buy it and be too small.

I second that. Boy and girl fits are completely different, and while I don't like extra tight clothing, I don't want to wear something that looks like a sack, either. I love this shirt so much that I'll probably by both a girl's and a boy's (and convert to a tank or nightshirt or something), but it's hugely disappointing that the guy color is always what the artist intends, and looks best, and the girl color is marketing toward what they *think* all girls want.
If teefury really wants to have separate colors, then offer the girl shirts in BOTH the original and more girly colors. Then all would be happy...and they might just make more money (and more fans) that way.
D'Aaawwwwww. Very nice! And yeah, it is a bummer that the shirt color is so bright. But, luckily for me, I have no qualms against wearing small men's shirts.
My best girl friends and I made the most glorious Snow Dalek three winters ago on our college campus. We named him Dalek Long for the building he was built in front of. Sadly, some jerkwad decided to kick his head off in the night - sadder still, the culprit was not EX-TER-MINATED :( :( :(
A few comments:
1) This is one of the best designs I've seen recently--- clean, cute, seasonal. I would buy it, except I'm not a Doctor Who person. Please, more designs LIKE this, just with less Doctor Who.^-^
2) For the ladies: I'm a size 4/6 with an unusually small waist. For some reason the girls' shirts always look dumpy on me and make my waist look thicker, so I always order a men's small. It fits fine and I find it to be much more flattering. Plus, I can throw it in the dryer as often as I like without worrying about the heat damaging the stretchiness.

I ABSOLUTELY agree. Why do the girls shirts always end up being slightly less of a good color than the guy shirts? It's uncool and has prevented me from buying quite a few shirts. And while we're on the topic, PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, stop using Cteam and White shirts. NO ONE LIKES THEM. Well, I don't at least. hehe...

Not much to get. The same idea could have been done with R2-D2, it is in the shape of a villian from Doctor Who. Just look at the Daleks. The basic design of them has not changed much in 48 years and you don't have to watch any particular episode to get it (unlike the design from 2 days ago: Angels have the Delorean)

Are you having a laugh?
I read these threads just about everyday and see lots of people say they don't like Doctor Who, or have never watched it (I actually was one of those people earlier this year. I posted on this site that I did not get a reference to the Weeping Angels since I had not watched the show) but I have never heard of anyone not having heard about the show before. It's like never hearing about Star Trek (Both started in the 1960s and have been in production in one form or another most of the time between now and then!) Unless you don't have a TV or Computer, how have you possibly avoided the mention of Doctor Who?

I'm dead serious. I never heard of it before. I really don't own a television. I haven't had one in like five years. Yes, I have a computer but I use it for school, research, and business. I don't know how I've avoided this, maybe I've simply never noticed any mention of it, but I promise I am not joking.

tough choice. fsr i am reluctant to get winter/holiday themed shirts because i feel like i can't wear them in the summer. Though if you're a time traveler, it's always winter sometime.
It's not about the brightness of the turquoise, it's about the design looking better on the slate. It's a snow-Dalek. Slate looks like a snowy sky, so the design really fits. Turquoise, otoh, has nothing to do with snow. I LOVE this design! Now I have to decide if I want it to be shown off poorly on a shirt that fits me, or do I want it to really shine while wearing an ill-fitting men's small shirt. I understand if not all colors are available in girl-cut tees, but please teefury, consider how the art looks on each color, instead of saying "eh, this is close enough to that one". /polite rant
I love this design, but I must join the "why, why, why is the girl's shirt that shade of blue?" crowd. The slate is compliments the artwork perfectly. I want the design, but that turquoise is horrid. :(

It would be really nice if you made women's sizes in 2XL. Just saying as woman who needs more room in the chest than the XL and the guys just aren't made for a, um, woman's curves so it's not as flattering. I would be willing to even pay more for it.
the carrot, coal, and scarf are genius, but i'm a little sad that there isn't a plunger sticking out of his face. why would that have to be made of snowman bits? why couldn't that just be part of his make-up (as in the dalek shape to begin with) and cover it with snow? ah well, still brilliant!

The women's sizes are ridiculously small. If she's usually a medium, get her AT LEAST a large. If you use a dryer, I'd recommend an XL. I'm a medium-large in most shirts (I get the men's M here when I don't buy women's sizes), and I have to get the women's XL to fit nicely. Also, the larger the design, the less stretch the shirt has in the bust area.
1. I just bought a dalek shirt on another site yesterday.
2. The colour of the women's shirt. While I know I could take a chance and dye it (I have no desire for another boxy men's shirt), #1 is stopping me.

Maybe the person lives outside the US or UK. I'm from Sweden and not many people have heard of DW here. Apart from series one with Eccleston it hasn't aired here.
Doctor Who is probably the hottest "nerd" property out there currently, I learned long ago to just stop worrying about it. It just makes the designs I'm actually interested in that much more gratifying. Naysayers, get over it.

Seriously. I would have bought this as soon as I woke up this morning, but realized that the tee colour was ridiculous. No longer an instabuy :(
Malcassairo: This is great. I've never seen the show and I'm still tempted to get the shirt. The snow-lek idea is really cute and funny. I actually like the turquoise colour, but I agree that the original slate blue fits the design better (turquoise is too summery - the skies in my area do not look like that when it snows). Kudos on the print :)
TeeFurians: Stop complaining about Doctor Who shirts. The most frequent references I see around here are from people whining about how many Doctor shirts there are, even on days when TeeFury isn't selling anything Who-related (which is most of the time, believe it or not). If you don't want it or like it, then consider it another way to save your money.
"I mean, the show is massively popular and many people in the forums request more Doctor shirts... but how dare they offer to sell me something I don't want!" - See how ridiculous that is?

Just buy the men's shirt! That's what I do when that happens.
That doesn't workout when your women's size is S. The guy's tees don't come in XS.
We're in Alaska; that makes this the perfect Dalek shirt for us. Bought five - they are going in the stockings! (I do however wish the women's had been in the men's color.)

Oh wow, that is epic! Thanks for the help! I think I may go for the M then... the L sounds pretty big....
I really like the design but I wish it was available in a darker color. I am not a big fan of light colors. I would probably still buy it if I wasn't super broke right now.
So many shirts bought in the last few weeks. SoA, 3 DW's, SotD Cricket, Warriors. But, at least the wife doesn't really know about TeeFury and she's gonna love all three of her Doctor Who shirts come Christmas. Man she really loves that show. This is such a great design. I couldn't resist not buying it despite the women's shirt color. It will be worth it, one of the best designs since I found out about this site
This one is awesome!!!! I missed it! Oh well, I cannot afford any shirts right now anyway. I love it though! I found it on another website, so it is going on my wishlist for Christmas!
was wondering the same thing .. ordered and as of yet no email that it was sent out but the cal and hob/ back to the future crossover shirt ordered on the 20th is on its way .......odd
I wish I discovered this site earlier, or else I would have totally gotten this for myself on my birthday! Dr.Who is the best so it would have been perfect! Nice design!
The idea came to me back in ’06 not long after my mum had first introduced me to the show. I was sitting in a particularly boring (and cold) maths class, and doodled a snowman Dalek to pass the time. The idea has always stuck in my head. The Dalek form just seems so ideal to be made into a snow creature!

I would love to live in a large cottage with a massive garden of fountains, a hedge maze and statues. That’d be absolutely wonderful.
Illustration vs. photography: which would win the battle?
Ooh, that’s a tough one because I’m a photographer and an illustrator. I’m going to have to choose illustration though, there’s only so much you can do with photography, but with illustration, the ideas are limitless!
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
I was a big fan of cartoons as a kiddie, and I still am, they’re something I’ve never stopped loving. Dragon Ball Z, Captain Planet and The Wild Thornberry’s were some of my childhood favourites.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
Deviantart, youtube, teefury and any websites to do with sci-fi / geekery in general are my sites of choice.
Any shout outs?
Thank you teefury for making my SnowLek design come to life!

Just not crazy about this practice of gendering colors.

meg1487said 26 weeks ago
I mean, that's what I'll probably end up doing, but the cut and fabric quality (guy's fabric feels a bit stiffer and the girls shirts are softer with a bit of stretch) are very different and much less flattering on most women. So it's a bit of a disappointing trade-off.
gloriosaid 26 weeks ago
So did I, and I still want this tee.
gloriosaid 26 weeks ago
Yes, that is the exact reason. At least for me.
meg1487said 26 weeks ago
I just replied to someone else's post along these lines, but the last time there was a choice between these same colors, I bought the men's shirt 2 sizes smaller, and the fit and fabric is very different. Plus I'm an XL and I went with a men's medium so girls who are already buying a women's small or medium would just be stuck with an oversized work out or sleeping shirt if they bought the guy's shirt in its smallest size.

That would be an instant buy for me.
caprici42said 26 weeks ago

The women's sizes are ridiculously small. If she's usually a medium, get her AT LEAST a large. If you use a dryer, I'd recommend an XL. I'm a medium-large in most shirts (I get the men's M here when I don't buy women's sizes), and I have to get the women's XL to fit nicely. Also, the larger the design, the less stretch the shirt has in the bust area.
smeggs30said 26 weeks ago
1. I just bought a dalek shirt on another site yesterday.
2. The colour of the women's shirt. While I know I could take a chance and dye it (I have no desire for another boxy men's shirt), #1 is stopping me.
