About the artist
Tell us about this design.
Well if you were to ask me about my favourite movies, this one would be right up there. For me it’s a classic that always reminds me of my childhood. I think everyone can relate to the different relationships between the boys. It actually inspired me and my friend to walk the train tracks from Cusco to Machu Picchu instead of the Inca trail so that’s how much this movie means to me. I wanted to capture all the greatest moments of the movie and include all 5 main characters including Ace. I left out the pie eating contest as I feel that could almost warrant its own shirt. What do you think people?
Where are you from?
Still from England and still living in Bolivia.
How would you describe your style?
Versatile. I think the idea affects what style I use. You will always see thick clean line work in my designs, but how it is coloured and shaded depends on the subject.
If you could collaborate with anyone else, who would you pick?
I recently collabed with Yema Yema and that was a blast. I also have a couple more coming up with different tee artists. I guess if I could pick anyone it would be out of the tee industry and someone who has a style I feel I could compliment. I would love to do some crazy street art with this guy http://mamanimamani-bolivia.blogspot.com/ for example.
What historical figure do you most admire?
Gengis Kan was amazing in Bill and Ted’s excellent adventure.
If you weren't designing shirts, what would you be doing?
Teaching English so thank smurf I design t shirts!
Would you rather take a shortcut through the swamp or the junkyard?
Hmm, through the junkyard you can play scrapheap challenge but you might get set on by chopper and through the swamp you can play hide and seek but you’ve got leeches and all sorts of insects. I’m gonna cup my privates and go with the junkyard.
Darts vs. bowling: which would win the battle?
Darts. Grew up playing this in the pubs in England. I’m good at bowling on Wii but suck in real life.
What is your favorite t-shirt color?
Heather grey or coffee. I am actually releasing something myself soon on the heather grey.
What has been your favorite vacation or travel experience?
Tough one. I have seen more than the average person I would say. It would have to be a surf trip to Nicaragua. 10 years ago there was awesome uncrowded surf and cheap fish bbqs a plenty on the beach afterwards. I hate to think how touristy it has probably become now.
Any shout outs?
Next year I will be running the LA marathon on behalf of the charity Vitamin Angels, who work all round the world. If you would like to donate a little bit to help me reach my goal of $1000 I would really appreciate it.
