About the artist
Tell us about this design.
My love for golf goes no further than driving the beer cart at charity golf outings and watching this movie. The quote on this shirt is from my favorite scene with Al rockin' out to Journey on his fancy golf bag radio. I also incorporated a couple other elements like the teetering golf ball and the dancing golfer, er, I mean gopher.
What is your most unexpected or exciting memory?
Meeting Joannie Newton was both unexpected and exciting. I had plans to let women alone for a year, just concentrate on my work, and walk the earth like Cain from Kung Fu. My plans for a solitary existence went out the window after one date with Joannie.
If you could make anyone besides yourself Ruler of the Universe, who would you choose and why?
Louis Armstrong. Given his music and everything I have ever read about him, he seemed to have humanity's best interest at heart.
Do you have any surprising talents or hobbies?
I barbecue like it's a sport.
Do you prefer the guitar or drums?
It depends on if Grant Green or Art Blakey is playing.
Jukebox vs. iPod: which would win the battle?
I love a good juke, especially an old tymie one. But I prefer my Ipod, taking my music with me wherever I am.
Describe your ideal day.
Start the day at sunrise with coffee and drawing in my sketchbook on the old abandoned piers at the Delaware River...Taking my sketchbook to Sulimay's Diner in Fishtown and drawing for a couple hours listening to my Ipod and having breakfast...Taking my sketchbook to the Starboard Side Tavern a few blocks away and drawing at the bar with beers and Jameson shots...Finish the day falling asleep next to Joannie.
Any shout outs?
Rest in Peace Rodney Dangerfield.
