Haven't seen Boardwalk Empire, but very curious to. Hope HBO and Netflix make a deal at some point and put their shows on le streaming. Steve Buscemi as a mobster in early 1920s AC? What more could you want?

Yeah, when I don't get the reference and I see a half dozen people asking what it means only to be told "What's not to get?" or "How do you not get that?" it forces the conclusion that whatever "it" is has a legion of douchebags for fans that I'd rather not be any part of.

I really don't understand the community on this site. One day, an artist puts out a shirt with some super obscure reference and everyone goes, "Oh yeah, instabuy!" Today, there is a shirt from a critically-acclaimed HBO show and only a few people seem to understand.

Never seen the show so I don't understand the shirt. Guess I will just have to wait for tomorrows shirt...

I love the people who get upset when others say, "What's not to get?", because the offended person would probably say the same thing, were it a Dr. Who or a random sci-fi shirt and someone did not understand the reference. Haha.

Also, watch the show, it's pretty good. I'm surprised more people don't know about it. :)

I don't get it either, but I don't watch the show. Don't hate on peeps that haven't seen certain shows or movies. Not everyone has the same tastes ya know.
As far as the tee goes, even though I'm not sure of the reference, I like it. Nicely done.

Fantastic! I also am a huge fan of Boardwalk Empire Seriously if your not watching it go figure out a way to. it is Awesome!, and This character specifically is my favorite as well. It sure is nice to see a good tv series design that I like that is not Dr. Who related. we can't seem to go more than a few days without one. Not that their bad just that it's nice to get something new and fresh.

Dr. Who is an easy sell for sure but something like this might just make a few people go out and watch an awesome show that a lot of people are not watching because it has not crossed over to mainstream networks like sopranos did, not yet anyway.

I will be buying this one for sure.

However, the real reason I am commenting is that people insist on hating on Doctor Who (which I can accept that some people have different tastes). However, there has not been a Who shirt in quite a while, and really the only reason it pops up so often is the show's quality and fanbase. BE may be one of the best shows on television (I say may because I know nothing about it other than it's about Steve Buscemi in the mob), but do you think it'll be on TV for 26 years, then be rebooted for another 6+ years, have several made-for-TV movies, and a major theatrical release sometime in the next few years?

Also, it's "Doctor". Saying "Dr. Who" is incorrect. He is not a doctor, he's The Doctor.

Based on subscribership, HBO reaches approximately 9% of the US population, taking into account that many of those subscriptions are hotels, it reaches even less. So when someone "doesn't get" an HBO reference, I'm not surprised, I'm one of them.

I am an avid DW watcher. I've followed the series for a long time now. To claim that DW has a certain special quality to it seems rather preposterous. It's a family show. The writing has been excellent for a few episodes but for as many well written episodes, you get almost the double of awful episodes. Just because a TV-series is on for 26 + years doesn't make it superior to any other TV-show that is out there. Quite often, a 26 + run often means a decline in quality and the most critically acclaimed series ever have had only a limited run.

Then again, it would be unfair to compare a family Sci-Fi show with BBC budget with an adult Drama show with HBO budget. If you haven't seen Boardwalk Empire, I advice you to do so. Same thing for any other Whovian out there.

excellent points. I've never seen Dr Who but I grow more curious to see what this show is about because there are so many tees on this site, at least one every ten days, referencing this show. I haven't watched Who because I'm afraid I might be too late into the series to get the jokes -- this happens. Anyhow, I am a die-hard Boardwalk fan and this shirt is absolutely incredible to us viewers. The point is, don't compare unless you've been both on the Boardwalk and to see the Doctor.

Teefury has little to no respect for Breaking Bad. I've seen only one BB shirt here and I check everyday for the past few months -- always only in the sideart. Anyhow, for this Empire shirt I'll forgive them for they not know what they do, for the time being at least, since this shirt is so friggin phenomenal.

Joined this site a month ago or so and think it's awesome. This shirt has to be my favorite so far and I can't wait to wear it proudly. Boardwalk is my favorite show and Marrow rules. Thanks.

You can always obtain it by other means thats how I saw the first season but we have HBO this year. Plus i think its out on DVD now

Love the shirt. Just ordered it. Great job by the artist. I noticed in the sidebar, there is an ad for liquor bottles with customized art labels. Does anyone sell a replica label from the bottles washed up on the shore in the Boardwalk Empire intro sequence? They say, "Grand Canadian Old Rye Whiskey." I'd love to slap it on some bottles of real whiskey and drink it while I watch the show. C'mon - You have to get drunk while watching Boardwalk. That's what the whole show is about!

When you don't have HBO, and therefore haven't watched, or even heard of, the show, there's a lot not to get. Not everyone watches the same stuff. Stop assuming everyone's going to get it.

It has only been 4 days, then another 6 days before that. I am a major Doctor Who fan and will never get upset to see another Doctor Who shirt printed, but you cannot say it has been a while. Doctor Who shirts are the most printed shirts here, far and away the #1 reference, with #2 far behind.

Please make the Breaking Bad one next!

The argument that HBO is too expensive, thus people haven't seen the show, is hardly relevant considering a lot of the people who have seen it (or any other cable/pay channel show) probably download it. How many True Blood shirts have come through? HBO. Breaking Bad? AMC. Doctor Who?! BBC.

I don't have cable. I don't even have a convertor box to watch local channels. I have the Internets and I download my entertainment. Shh, don't tell. ;)

The font for 'Security' doesn't work for me as it looks far too modern considering both the design and the subject matter. I don't like Doctor Who, but at least the amount of those shirts Tee Fury print means I'm not spending a fortune every month.
