This shirt is tempting me. I just finished watching Shaun of the dead about ten minutes ago. Maybe that is a sign I should by this. Will have to think about it.
Damnit, why does anything british and zombie instantly make people think Shaun of the Dead, don't get me wrong, I love that movie more than life, but why cant the design just be a design!
But... Is it Shaun of the Dead? The bloody cricket club makes me think it is. Did the story take place in North London or thereabouts? May have to end up getting this one too. lol

Because it says so on the "About the artist" in the first question?

didn't shaun wail on zombies with a cricket paddle? i haven't seen it in a while.
tedward1986 said: Is that middle one on the side supposed to be a Garbage Pail Kid?
Yes, it was done as a part of a Garbage Pail Kid tribute art show, where the artists were to take one of the original GPK characters, and update/re-interpretate in there own style...
Great! I'll definitely be hinting this all day as a great Christmas present for me. What says Christmas more than zombies? Love the Tattoo Lou side art. :)

I think that it is a Shaun of the Dead shirt, simply because of the cricket reference. You are quite right to point out that a british themed zombie design is not necessarily a "Shaun" reference, but given that his weapon of choice in the film is a cricket bat, and that one fo the crossed bats in the design "has red on it", it would seem a fair assumption.

Most definitely Shaun of the Dead, unless there is a hitherto unknown catalog of North London based Zombie films that none of us are aware of. :)

I thought it was Shaun of the Dead until I read the side interview, and he didn't mention it.
It wasn't really the zombies/English thing, as much as the bloody cricket bat. And by "bloody cricket bat," I mean the cricket bat that is covered in blood, not the one that you're cursing at.
I've totally bridged the language gap between Britain and Amurica.

Probably because he says in the comments on the right that it's based off a film...
Oh and I could so see this being the name of a Scooter club too. Maybe a bloodied Lambretta instead of the crossed cricket bats. Yep. I love this design. :D

How many other zombie films do you know set in North London?
Big thanks to everyone who stopped buy and picked up a shirt today, in addition to Jimiyo, MJ, and the rest of the TF staff for just being awesome. Also; wanted to give a big thanks to Eric and Mary at Geekadelphia.com and everyone else who helped get the word out today. I appreciate all of your support!
Best,

This design is a little different for me, compared to my previous Teefury offerings. At a recent comic convention, a friend of mine asked me to do a sketch in her themed sketchbook. The concept was sports teams logos, having the artist come up with whatever fictional team name (and fictional sport, for that matter) and create an original logo for said team. Being a fan of a certain zombie film that takes place in North London, it didn't take long for me to come up with an idea. Creating a logo on the spot is a bit different than sketching an already established character in someone's sketchbook. Any designer out there that has created a logo for any purpose knows that it takes a bit of thought and lots of drawing and redrawing to capture the essence of what your logo is to represent. I held on to the idea until I had a chance to sit and refine the image, changing a few things and adding a recognizable piece of sporting equipment to the design was the proverbial icing on the cake.
