I think Peach's hair IS long. It goes down the back of her neck. There's no way her neck would be that thick? Also, he may not have created her, but he's the Nintendo guru. It makes sense imo!

I think I would like the design more if it didn't include the text. To me it's kinda hitting you over the head with the design and the subtlety is lost. It would would be a definite buy for me with solely the silhouette. I will have to think about it, but it is probably a no.

Exactly. Samus Aran was designed by Hiroji Kiyotake and the game was developed by Nintendo's R&D 1. Metroid was convinced by Makoto Kano but if Samus could be called anyone's baby it would be Yoshio Sakamoto.

Still an awesome concept, purchasing now! :)

I knew Miyamoto didn't create Samus, but since he is synonymous with Nintendo I thought it still made sense.

Peaches' hair is there, just in silhouette. It could have benefitted from some flyaways but she keeps it so neat all the time.

I agree. The font and placement throws it off. It would have been better if they had stuck with the original text design from the painting (cut out of the "angels'" dresses).

I'm kind of bummed it's pink in girls' too. I feel like anytime there's a shirt I would buy, it's some kind of fleshtone in the women's size (I'm pale so pink/ivory doesn't look great on me). Would be a for sure buy if it was in blue in both!

To all of the commenters that say but he didn't create Metroid/Samus, Miyamoto may not have fathered Samus but he has shaped some of her career and I think that works fine with the concept. Miyamoto was a producer on Metroid Prime after Gunpei Yokoi, a friend and mentor of Miyamoto's, died. He is more than capable of pulling her into the fold.

I am buying....I love all of these ladies!

Miyamoto shaped the gaming industry sure, but Samus isn't his baby, so to speak. Also Metroid Prime was developed by Retro Studios, an American company.

Metroid wasn't done by Miyamoto though. Gunpei Yokoi is Samus's creator.

Just because Metroid Prime was developed by Retro doesn't mean Nintendo was hands off. Shortly after Miyamoto became involved and recalled thinking "Retro could do Metroid for us."
Shigeru Miyamoto, Metroid Prime producer, Nintendo of Japan, said, "This is the first time we've worked on a title with a foreign team to this degree. [Retro] has developed a game that the Japanese media have accepted, and it will be embraced by the Japanese gaming community."
It has been said that Metroid Prime went first person because of him because he hated the 3rd person camera that was first used. "Miyamoto sincerely disliked Metroid Prime's original camera system. He ordered the game changed from third-person to first-person"

Nothing about the shirt design says that Miyamoto had to have created them, just as Charlie did not father the original angels, he just brought the best girls available for the job together.

Where are you from?

New York, now with 100% more earthquakes and hurricanes.

How did you get started designing t-shirts?

Well I always wanted to design shirts and once sites like Tee Fury started it was easier than ever for an artist to get involved.

What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?

For designers in general, take your inspiration from everywhere and work your ass off.

For aspiring shirt designers, learn how the printing process works and why you have to limit your color palette with traditional screenprinting. Start simple with a one color design and go from there.

What would be your dream job?

In everything but salary, making art is already my dream job. So buy some shirts or prints and help that come true too!

What is your favorite thing about Nintendo?

They’ve made some of the greatest video games of all time and Miyamoto is the modern day Walt Disney. I really respect how much joy they’ve given people throughout the years while bridging cultural and generational gaps. The billions they’ve made probably didn’t hurt either.

What would your ideal house be like?

That anti-zombie house (http://i.imgur.com/FgAhw.gif) that was being linked everywhere a few months ago. I’d probably just use it to keep away solicitors though. No I don’t want any magazine subscriptions, I have an iPad.

Drums vs. guitar: which would win the battle?

Guitar is the sexy choice but you need the rhythm section to hold it down. They can co-exist in awesome ways like the White Stripes and Black Keys

What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?

I’ve always been a huge comic nerd. As a kid I read almost everything that came out from Marvel, DC and Image on a weekly basis. Now I’m probably more a fan of the creators than the characters themselves. Pretty much anything by Alan Moore or Warren Ellis and I’m there.

What are a few of your favorite websites?

I waste a lot of time on these sites daily: reddit.com, teefury.com, boingboing.net, dailygrail.com, cracked.com and more.
