I completely agree with this. I get questions on my Flash Camera shirt. I look at them and just say "Think about it for a minute."

I would say this has to be explained much more than most shirts. If I wear a buffy shirt people may not know its buffy but I can just tell them its a buffy shirt. Same question here and I have to explain this long thing that means more to the artist than me.

Tell us a bit about this design.

This was an assignment for class. Each person had to make an Illustration based on a quote they got; mine was: "It has not yet been proven that Intelligence has any survival value." The concept is that there's this little guy who's got this "Bearscare" App that supposedly scares bears away. Obviously it doesn't. India Ink on Illustration board.

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Lima, Peru. Moved to Miami when I was 11, then moved to Houston at 17. I go to school at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.

Beards. Neon Genesis Evangelion. Shadow of the Colossus. Mechanical Pencil. Skinny Jeans. Bears.

What kind of art did you make as a kid?

I started out by copying Pokemon artwork. Also, I would get grid paper and fill in the squares to draw my Tamagotchi.

What is your favorite thing about bears?

The entirety of their being. Their fur.

Rock vs. rap: which would win the battle?

Rock. Sorry bro, Rap isn't that great.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.

That's a hard one, but it's gotta be "Kill Monotony" by Enkel Dika. It's a Lion chomping down on a Zebra on the bottom right, and there's a stream of color shooting up diagonally across the shirt. I love it so much I don't even like wearing it because I might ruin it somehow.

Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.

Gaming has reading and movies. It is the perfect medium - you can't level up in movies! Kingdom Hearts is my favorite, I've lost count of how many times I replayed it.

What inspires your work?

Master Painters of the Baroque period. Contemporary Artists - the good ones. Videogames. My friends' work.
